What Danica jade doesn't like about Cagle Steaks Bbq Phone Number, Reservations, Reviews:
The food tasted ok but was not worth the prices. Our waitress was very polite . Not to happy that for a group of 4 and only 3 ate as the 4th was a baby, that they put the gratuity on our ticket. I could understand for a group of 6 or more but not for 3 meals at almost 19% automatically charged. The waitress actually received a smaller tip than what we would have normally left because the automatic charge kinda upset... View all feedback.
Came out to celebrate a birthday with my family. Ordered a 20oz ribeye cooked medium and I had been looking forward to it all week. That was the end of what I thought would be a nice birthday celebration. The Steak came out rare and cool/cold in the middle. I pointed it out to the waitress and she quickly took it back to cook right. When it came back a quarter of the steak (where I had cut into it to check if done) was missing and it looked like it was now torched and crispy. I pointed out that I now had a burnt steak and the waitress profusely apologized and took it back. The Manager Gene then came out with the steak and told us they cooked it right the first time and that if we wanted another steak they would charge us for an additional steak. So my $42 steak would become a $84 dollar steak if I still wanted to eat. After Gene argued with me, as if I’d never eaten/ ordered a steak before, I told him we didn’t want to buy another steak and that I would not be paying for the smoldering hockey puck he wanted me to eat . He said he would do me the favor of removing it from my bill. I was lucky enough to be able to catch the owner on site and decide to speak with him about the issue. He kind of apologized, then tried to change the subject to the amount of out of state people in town. He asked that we not allow this negative experience to reflect on his business and I told him that whenever management initiates conflict and seeks out the chance to argue with a customer there is something wrong with the business. The Owner didn’t try to fix the issue either. So if you want steak with a side of drama or want to pay double the price to get it cooked right this is the place. Waitress was awesome …
Always a great experience for a family gathering. Great food and service!
My older parents were driving thru town and my boyfriend recommended this place from his time visiting family at Tech a long time ago. I am helping my parents navigate this trip even though I’m not physically with them and so I was trying to make everything easy memorable for them. So, I called to set a reservation and fortunately for me Lisa Cagle answered the phone and she said “Leave it to me!” My parents said the food and atmosphere was the best they have experienced! My parents eat out a lot so this is huge! They talked about every dish in detail and how everything was delicious! They enjoyed meeting the Cagles as they moved thru the restaurant checking on guests and that just made my parents experience that much more elevated! They said the Cagles were so nice and fun to talk to, it felt just like catching up with old friends. They are tickled pink that they stopped by Cagle Steaks BBQ. I was so happy to hear my parents had such a wonderful time! Thank you Mr Mrs Cagle!
The evening of July 27th, I attended a birthday dinner with my friend. She had spent $120 for a custom birthday cake for her husband's 40th. We had excellent service and the food was delicious. Trace was our waiter and we sat at table 15. We asked for half of the cake to be placed into the fridge at 9 PM when we went across the way to enjoy some of thr live music. When we returned at 10 PM he informed us that the kitchen staff three it out. Saying we had been away from restaurant for over an hour and a half. When we went to speak with the manager he had the waiter pull $60 out of his own pocket of tips to pay back for the mistake. This review is negative because this was no fault of waiter Trace. The manager could have offered a gift card so we all could have come back at a later date for dessert on them. I do not agree with them punishing the waiter who was not at fault.
We had reservations for about 20 people for my husbands birthday. We had a great time, food was amazing, and our server, Trace, was super attentive, accommodating and friendly. We had brought a cake with us and at the end, our table was promptly cleaned up and plates, forks, and even a big knife was given to us so we could cut the cake and get it served to everyone. After paying the bill, we asked Trace if we could get the remaining of the cake held for us while we all went to grab a couple of drinks at the bar prior to yall closing at 10pm (that was a 9pm, so we asked if they could hold the remaining cake which was over half of it left). He told us that was not a problem at all, took the cake and our group of friends and family all went across the way to sit and enjoy a couple drinks before saying our goodnight and thank you’s to everyone. At 9:40, my husband went into get the cake and thank Trace again for his amazing service and he informed us that the kitchen staff had thrown away the cake and profusely apologized. To say we were more than a little agitated (not at him) would be an understatement. The cake costed us a $120 from a local cake baker and because most of us were full, the cake barely got eaten. My husband never even got a piece of his own birthday cake. I didn’t get a piece of it. I know it’s just cake but a lot of money went into making this cake special for my husband not to mention time and talent of the baker. I decided to talk with the manager. I didn’t know how it could be rectified but I thought maybe he could offer something maybe a gift card to be able to go back and enjoy another time with my husband and get some of yalls delicious dessert or reimbursement for the cake or something, I’m not sure but something. First off, he was not friendly. He was actually kind of rude. Second off, he made Trace pay us $60 out of his own pockets as a rectification. That was, to us, absolutely unacceptable. It wasn’t Trace’s fault, it was the kitchen staff. And for a manager to treat an employee like that is definitely NOT okay. It wouldn’t have hurt the restaurant to offer at the very least a gift card for us to come back. It would have brought us back and we likely would have ended up spending more money there not to mention, we would have told everyone about this extraordinary local business that not only provided amazing service all evening but also, rectified a situation we had had. Instead, my husband said we probably won’t be back because he doesn’t want to support a business that not only treats their customers like that but also their employees. All of our guest witnessed the interaction and agreed that this isn’t the kind of local business to support if money is more important to the restaurant than providing excellent customer service. Needless to say, we ended up walking back in, finding Trace and we gave him his money back. We thanked him as profusely as he apologized to us and we told him it wasn’t his fault and his service was outstanding and we appreciated him trying to fix the situation but it was wrong for the manager to have made him pay out of his own pockets. He was so grateful that we gave him his money back and thanked us. We told him we would be contacting different managers and the owners but that we couldn’t take his money. And we left.
