I have now had two of the four things that are gluten free on the menu (not impressed by that number), the steak was a terrible cut very chewy and over cooked,... read more I have now had two of the four things that are gluten free on the menu (not impressed by that number), the steak was a terrible cut very chewy and over cooked, not only that, the chips which come with it have gluten in them and I had to pay an extra $5 for gluten free chips to replace the ones with gluten I wasn't given.Next time I had the Braised lamb risotto, so bland I had to add salt to make it edible and I never add salt. The rest of our party were not very impressed, the only one who was happy had the jambalaya, there were 20 of us. Please taste your food before you send it out of don't charge such high prices for very average pub food!!

It has friendly staff and a great indoor/outdoor area with a massive kids area so it's great for families. The Lower should better than it is but it lacks something and for the life of me I can't put my finger on what is. Just give it a try and see.

Our mains were served promptly and the food wa... read more We arrived on time for our 6:30pm reservation at the bistro on Easter Saturday. The restaurant was only 30% full. Our mains were served promptly and the food was good, except for the chef's special roast pork which was below standard. At 7:45pm, staff informed us that desserts and coffees needed to be ordered right away as the kitchen was closing at 8pm. The dessert display fridge was closed, offering only 3 choices. We placed orders for items from all 3 choices, only to be told shortly after that 2 of the options were no longer available. At 8:25pm, staff informed all patrons that the restaurant was closing and we had to leave by 8:30pm, even though the bar and pokies remained open. We were charged an additional 10% for staff holiday loading without any prior warning of restricted hours. There were no explanations or apologies given, and management did not make an appearance. Needless to say, none of us or our friends will be returning to this establishment.

When it finally did, the quality was below average, which was disappointing. Your hotel used to be better than this, so I will not be returning and will warn others to avoid it. Sincerely, David Owen. P.S. I also ordered a Pimm's Cup from the bar, but the staff didn't know how to make it!
