Even though we all lived nearby, this was our first time at Burrell Inn. We went for dinner and we loved it! Our waitress was as great as the food. I had homemade chips with cheese and chicken salad, while my partner had the steak hoagie and spicy fries. Both dishes were excellent with generous portions. What Isadore Langosh doesn't like about Burrell Inn:
I ordered 4 chicken salads for pickup. My salads included minimal lettuce, 2 cherry tomatoes, 4 thin slices of cucumber, cheese, and potatoes. There was also an egg in each salad. If you enjoy salads with a lot of dressing, this place is for you. However, if you prefer toppings like peppers, carrots, olives, or avocado, you may be disappointed. Back in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the German chemical company BASF ran an ad campaign with the slogan, At BASF, we don 't make a lot of the products you buy, we make a lot of the products you buy better. In the case of the Burrell inn, they are making things WORSE! For reasons that I have no explanation for, the 50+ year old chicken wing recipe is no longer used at the Burrell Inn. The Burrell Inn chicken wing recipe has three primary ingredients which I will not reveal in public, but one key ingredient is PAPRIKA. For 50+ years the wings were absolutely saturated with paprika!! When you ate these wings, you would have paprika hands, paprika, face. Not anymore. : They don 't use much if any paprika anymore and the wings suck. If you want the original Burrell Inn chicken wings go to Woodpeckers in Upper Burrell. Place is going downhill fast. More than happy to delete or revise this review if they get their act together.
I ordered the jamaican jerk chicken salad, and my brother in christ, this was NOT jerk chicken at all!
Had the appetizer platter and the lasagna both were great
The first time we fire them we liked it so much we got it the next day too lol
