What User doesn't like about Global Village Kafe:
we were there to eat, very nice and helpful. Eating wasn't good. the pommes and the bruschetta were very tasty, everything else was unfortunately completely tasteless and cost almost the same. we had the Gado-Gado, pakhora, spring rolls and filled tofu. the rolls were not crispy at all, but soft and laby. tofu and tempeh in the gado gado were fried and very watery. pakhora have tasted like fried suppengreen. pity. ot... A few minutes walk from Lovina Beach and nestled behind a garden this place was a lovely find! The menu is extensive! I had the Egyptian bowl of macaroni, rice and chickpeas and it was so comforting and filling! Boyfriend had a burrito which was good and jam packed. It was just nice to find non Indonesian food that wasn’t just the standard pizza/burger fare. The staff are lovely as is the setting.
The people in this restaurant are so nice and make them welcome even if they have no single idea about the sign language. the menu offers some vegan options, I'm pretty sure everyone can find something they like. I decided to go for the tempeh saay with an erdnus sauce. the peanut sauce was ok, but could be better off. unfortunately they don't offer it as numbs, it was all about my tempo. the pace was a little too soft. it comes with rice on the side. the part is big enough and the prices are cheap.
Café with deaf employees, a small shop and own coffee. Vegetarian food is marked in the menu, but not vegan. You have to ask. I ordered avocado juice and was surprised that it was chocolate sauce (not vegan? in it). So I'd rather ask a question. Our juices were delicious and also fried snacks.
We were there for dinner. Very nice and helpful service. The food wasn't good. Pommes and the Bruschetta were very tasty, everything else was unfortunately totally tasteless and tasted almost the same. We had the Gado-Gado, Pakhora, spring rolls and stuffed tofu. The reels were not crispy at all, but soft and stubborn. Tofu and Tempeh at Gado Gado were fried and very watery. Pakhora tasted like fried soup green.... pity. Otherwise great idea of usefulness. For a coffee you can definitely look by, unfortunately there is no soy milk.
The restaurant and the staff is really lovely! The atmosphere of the location is just great! You feel as if you would sit in the middle of a jungle. Furthermore, it's a charity restaurant, which donates their profits for a good cause. However, we have to say that we didn't like the food that much (Gado Gado and Masala Curry it had no real flavour unfortunately. So, we probably wouldn't come again to eat there but for sure, we're going to grab some drinks or coffee there! : Updated from previous review on 2020 01 24
