Super sweet staff. The catfish was cooked well but (hit a few bone& not really seasoned which was weird since the Cajun fries were super seasoned. LONG wait (round 7pm so go diff time if in a hurry but kid loved the grits, I had some too. Hushpuppies have a little kick in case you wanna know. The Etouffée is very tasty. Will try next time.Dietary restrictions: GF and GM dishes.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a pas... View all feedback.
What Aaron Cooke doesn't like about Betta Gumbo:
Closed during posted business hours with no notice or sign. Made a trip here out of my way to try the food and being greeted with an empty restaurant during business hours is really unfortunate. I was really excited to try this place while I was up here but that’s just how it goes I guess. View all feedback.
Normally I really love Betta Gumbo, but I was incredibly disappointed this weekend when we tried to go on Saturday at 2pm and they were completely closed. No sign, no hour change notice, nothing. Unfortunately, this is not the first time they have been closed during their listed business hours and I find that really unprofessional.
Great outdoor dining on square off 4th Street with easy free parking in garage. Axe to Grind axe throwing is across the street to north. The gumbo bowl $12.99 was large and had just the right amount of burn. Shrimp étouffée $18.99 was tasty. Both dishes served with cornbread. Server Hope was attentive.
The food was amazing. The grits with shrimp in it were oh so delicious. I absolutely am snobbish about grits loving them from my Nana in the south. But, these grits were made top-notch, perfect amount of shrimp and butter.I had the sampler platter. The grits, as I mentioned, are amazing. The Betta gumbo was so good. It had a nice amount of spice to it. The jambalaya was just okay to me. It had a great amount of protein. I just personally don't love white rice. So, don't take my personal experience with it as a knock. The biscuit I ended up eating with the gumbo and grits. I would recommend trying this dish and restaurant out. If I lived in the area. I would go back and try multiple other dishes. This place was great. The only knock was our waitress. She did do a great job, though. The night we went there they had indoor music, which was really nice. I would just suggest sitting outside during those nights. The sound level inside can be a bit loud to tolerate or to try and hold a conversation with anyone.
We thoroughly enjoyed our food and drink for our first time here, full of flavor and the drink was well-balanced. Had a short wait when we first sat down but the food came out quickly and Jana took great care of us!Betta Gumbo is a Loveland must.
We made a reservation at 4 PM today for a party of 2 at 6 PM which was confirmed. When we got there at 5:45 we were told that there were no tables available.. Great customer service??? We recommend Scripted Bar and Kitchen across the street.
