So so good! It’s relatively cheap and the food was fantastic, will definitely come again in future. The staff was also very sweet, especially when we almost forgot our takeaway lol View all feedback.
What Martiatuk doesn't like about Hong Xiang:
I have eaten at this restaurant a few times and a friend asked if i could go with them , as always it's empty , ordered the over priced wine , as usual the house wine is never available so you get stung there , service is always from the same unhappy lady , the food is cooked in the same sauce whatever you eat , on leaving the bill was incorrect, after querying things on the bill extra drinks etc) the waitress got ab... After exhausting most options in Peniche over the last couple of weeks we decided to venture further afield and give Hong Xiang. It’s quite a basic set up, traditional Chinese style restaurant with an all you can eat menu €11.95) or an option to order from the full a la carte menu. The buffet menu which everybody seemed to be ordering from) is 90% sushi with only a few Chinese dishes at the end. From the whole menu, the only vegetarian options are shown in the photo 4 different sushi rolls, plain fried rice, plain fried noodles, fried mushrooms bamboo). To be brutally honest everything we ate was oily and bland, overall very disappointing. I must say the waitress was very helpful and polite, although there was a significant language barrier with is my own fault) it was nothing that couldn’t be solved with google translate. In terms of value for money, €24 for 2 for what we ate I wouldn’t recommend it for a veggie meal. However, If you eat meat/fish and are happy to take quantity over quality then you can’t go wrong for under €12!
This is more of a take away rather than a proper restaurant. The food is oily and not very healthy. Not proper Chinese cuisine but more of a chop suey type food outlet
I don't usually trust Chinese restos with Japanese food but this one kind of works. We actually had sushi here and it ok. This resto has decayed a bit since I've been here the first time. It's sad bc the family that runs it is so nice.
Sushi is good, always fresh (it did happened that once we were told they couldn't serve sushi for lack of fresh fish... good sign, IMO and tasty; servings are probably too large, meaning you cannot taste many dishes, due to the quantity of food served by a single dish. Price is good for an all you can eat a-la-cart restaurant, coming at 8.90 € at lunch and 11.90 € at dinner, drinks and desserts not included. However, it is annoying (for whom goes there almost weekly that some products can go missing for entire weeks (such as dumplings... , tablecloths are sometimes left unclean, and the service is hasty and sometimes scarce in attention.
We love this place. First time I came here I was very impressed with the quality of the food. Don't be afraid to eat sushi here just because it's a chinese restaurant. It is good quality. I think this is the restaurant in Lourinhã that we go more often. Prices are very affordable. A box of sushi to take away is 5,50€ and to eat at the restaurant it works like a buffet, you pay a price and you can order anything from their menu. The people there is nice, always smilling.
