If you are craving an Asian restaurant, this is the place in Lourdes. The dishes did justice to the flavors of Vietnam. Service though was quite slow, and they lacked waiters. The beef and pho were surprisingly pleasant. Good enough ingredients, flavors and cooking done right. View all feedback.
What Roland Guillou doesn't like about Le Comptoir d' Asie:
Cold supermarket like interior. Not a lot of tables and space for couples, almost only for bigger groups. Practically no Thai dishes on the menu, more Vietnamese.I have never seen anything like this. The waiter (owner?) is walking around like a chicken without a head and has no idea what to do first when it gets a bit busy. He chooses to help new customers coming in, to settle first. The restaurant is not bad but it is only not bad by the standards of Lourdes. There is no real com petition in Lourdes as it is a tourist trap. You do not have much choice in Lourdes.I has some spring rolls and a chicken curry and a soup. It was Ok but nothing exceptional.I ate there once ony my own and once with two friends. I cannot say more than if you like Asian food, it will be acceptable
In lourdes for the weekend and really enjoyed a meal here. Lovely welcoming hosts. Unfortunately limited English so our starters and mains arrived together but still enjoyed and would visit again.
We went back to this restaurant the door to make a huge noise but no one at the reception! we have turned around with this same noise no person to catch up!!!

And just completely ignores you when you call him. He has a great sense of conveniently not seeing you, even if you address him on one meter distance. When I made a remark that we had been waiting quite a long while a really would like to order, he became very aggressive right away and held a tirade in a mix of French/Vietnamese in which he stated if we were not willing to wait, we'd better leave. So we did.
