It is rather awkwardly situated just before the railway line, but once you take the plunge and pull off the road, there is plenty parking space. The inside of the restaurant is smart looking and I was a bit concerned that with our 4 small kids in tow, it might not be suitable! However, we sat outside and this was ideal (if not the most scenic! . There was plenty of room for the children to get up and play (as they do! without disturbig anyone else. The seafood menu was extensive and there were plenty of things (both on the menu and off that were suitable for the children. We were also shown a selection of fish to choose from, and the waiter was happy to recommend. The food was tasty, the fish was fresh, the wine was very good (we had the house white from the Duoro region and this was exactly to my taste and the bill was surprisingly reasonable. All in all, definitely worth a visit!
This restaurant was recommended to us by a member of staff at our hotel and we're so happy we asked him! We wanted good, Portuguese seafood and that's what we got. The restaurant doesn't look fancy but has 3 different seating areas 1 outside. The front room was the most romantic I think, with nicely dressed tables, so we sat by the window. The second room is where the bar is and had a more casual feel and the third is in a large outdoor area. In the front room is a fish tank filled with crabs and lobsters caught fresh that day. We chose a huge seafood platter for 2, which included our choice of crab. The waiter was really friendly and helped us pick the feistiest crab... I think she bit him earlier in the day! We were presented with LOADS, like 20 maybe, of king prawns (in shells), oysters, a bowl of massive mussels in a lovely homely warm tomato sauce, a big bowl of garlicy clams, the crab we chose dressed to a special Portuguese recipe and a lovely big langoustine split and grilled. It was just fantastic. Beautifully arranged and so exciting to eat! For dessert we went with the waiter's recommendation of the restaurant's special. It arrived as a small chocolate something with a big scoop of (real) vanilla ice cream nicely decorated with chocolate sauce. the small chocolate something was huuuuuge on flavour. I think it was the most chocolatey thing i've ever eaten. Like a really squishy, intensely rich brownie. amazing. We finished the meal off with a couple of espressos which were perfect.
Fresh seafood for a good price, relaxing place. i was supposed to spend there 2 hours and left after 5!!! very friendly staff
