Great Margharitas and the camarones tropicale are delicious! We ate on the beach with the waves just about lapping at our feet. Can't beat it will be back.
We tried the Cato after fishing with Evers the famous fishing guides the food and the entire experience was fantastic what wonderful food on the beach. Just the best.
The ambiance of this family run seafood restaurant is casual, but someone in the kitchen has an imaginative hand with fresh fish. Many of the dishes feature stuffed snapper fillets in other words, a fillet spread with a mixture of vegetables and/or shrimp, rolled and deep fried, then topped with sauce. We split an order of the house specialty, stuffed with shrimp, spinach and celery and topped with a creamy pecan sauce. That may sound strange, but it worked. Sides of rice and lettuce salad made an agreeable contrast, and the view couldn't be beat we were right on the beach, a swath of fine buff colored sand ringing a pretty bay.
It's Mexico, why not rate restaurants of her margaritas? A week in this beautiful Mexico city with one of the best beaches ever. For size, taste and price, Cato’s was chosen the best. Eating is also great and loved our waitress .
My wife and I ate at El Cato dozens of times during our weekly stay and the food was always excellent, the service was fast and friendly and the margaritas sensational. We tried other restaurants in La Manzanilla (including the much hyped Magnolias), but none compared to El Cato. Very recommend to get the coconut shrimp and watch the sunset, an unforgettable experience. The food is also consistently clean and there is no risk for the usual travel bugs that some of us foreigners pick up. Very recommended!
