What User doesn't like about Omakase By Osen:
the dinner was honestly an ideal date night. every bite was perfect, and the presentation impeccable. could no longer recommend it for a special occasion or an unusual date night. View all feedback.
Had a lovely dining experience as we celebrated our anniversary. We opted for a La carte and ordered some delicious hand rolls. We ordered spicy scallop, yellowtail cilantro, omakase handroll, uni toro caviar, blue crab and uni hand rolls and uni chawanmushi, a5 wagyu with amaebi for starters. Highly recommend! They also treated us to their delicious matcha Mochi cake for our anniversary. What a lovely surprise.
A gem in Silver Lake! We had omakase at the bar and it was amazing! Such a specially curated and delicious meal, made with such care. Lisa and her staff are all so kind and gracious. JP, Takagi and the sushi chefs are talented, precise, creative good natured and friendly. They very kindly accommodated my few ingredient intolerances. And we got a rose for our anniversary! What a lovely evening. We will be back next for a low-key, off the menu meal, but wouldn’t be surprised if for another special occasion, we try the omakase again! Brava.
Food was not very good at all. Miso soup was served lukewarm. Food was presented in a non-user friendly manner that was neither traditional nor practical. In no way was this meal for two worth $300.
This is my first visit to Omasake by Osen, I have also visted their other spot, Izakaya Osen several times. In short, the food and at-table service is good that comes with array of tastes and texture with balanced surprises. What fell short was the ambience, the overall experience was drastically affect by how close our seats were to the next table, at times it felt like I was in a group of 4 people and parts of their conversation and drowning the voice when the waiting staff were explaining their food to us. This would have been the right atmosphere, if I was going to Izakaya Osen, but I had expected a different experience that Omakase by Osen was hoping to achieve which I believe this was detrimental to my visit this time. I also think it would have been a managable issue by placing our table by the sushi bar which had few customer when we arrived there and mostly empty during our dinning experience there, or the other sitting area which looks like to be more flexible or accomodate larger groups. Once they figure out tatics to handle the noise and ambience issues with in the spaces that they created. I believe Omaksase by Osen has the right ingredients to continue expand the sucess of the Osen label.
Not a great time. First time sat at bar this time they wouldn't let us. Food was not $200 a person good. Not staying if they shaft us like dis
