The Milk Bar is a dessert shop made famous by Christina Tosi of Momofuku Notoriety. It's known for making unconventional dessert dishes that harken back to our childhood days. Pared down cakes, warmed up birthday cake cookies, truffles that defy explanation, pies, and of course some soft serve to go with it all. You can also purchase an assortment of merchandise or cookbooks here, as this is the only Los Angeles base... View all feedback.
What Grant doesn't like about Milk Los Angeles:
Delicious cookies, cakes, and pies. Very rich and all had good texture. When walking up, there was a smell of human waste outside, probably from some homeless people, but none of which were present around the store at the time I came in. Also, not sure about the virtue-signaling of this place. Good desserts though. View all feedback.
The dessert is incredibly sweet and buttery, yet absolutely delicious. Heating a birthday cake truffle in the microwave for 10 seconds is pure bliss. The filling tastes like pecan pie without the pecans. My favorite part is definitely the soft oat crust.
The Cereal Milk Cup had an unexpected sour taste, and since I’m not a fan of yogurt, I couldn't finish it. The Birthday Cake Slice and Pie Slice from the Milk Bar were quite small for the price, but that was alright because they were very sweet. Overall, I didn’t feel the quality and quantity matched the price; everything felt a bit gimmicky.
The birthday cake had its ups and downs; one half was stale and dry while the other half was deliciously moist. Overall, I don’t think it's worth the price given the quantity. The milk bar pie slice was really tasty, but again, the portion sizes don't justify the cost.
$12 for a milkshake that was the size of a Frosty and didnt taste as good.
Not worth the money at all... Magnolia cake is 3x the size, 10x better, and half the price. The pie slice was better than the cake, but the size is laughable
