Kendall's Brasserie - Los Angeles

The onion soup fondue was outstanding. It had a wonderfully rich broth topped with a generous layer of perfectly broiled cheese. My friend and I also ordered the bread basket, which was just average. However, the onion soup fondue alone makes for a fantastic pre-show meal. The service was friendly, efficient, and highly professional.

This French restaurant is conveniently located next to the Ahmanson, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, and Mark Taper Forum, making it a popular choice for theatergoers before shows. I made a reservation for three online, which was an easy process. If you're planning to catch a performance, I recommend parking in the underground garage at the Music Center (entrance on Grand) for just $9 on weekends or any show day after 5 PM. The restaurant has gendered restrooms and accepts credit cards. We ordered the cheese and charcuterie board, which appeared to be a crowd favorite.

The service is excellent, making it a good choice for a pre-theatre meal, but the food leaves much to be desired. I wouldn't recommend the charcuterie board; it falls flat compared to what you can easily find in a big city. It's also quite pricey for what you receive.

What happened to this place. We always eat here prior to a show. The server DID NOT listen to any requests we ordered. We kept having to remind him for simple things like ketchup or extra dressing for salad and butter for bread, refills on our drinks. He kept saying he needed to check if they had them. On top of that he kept forgetting. We listened to the people next to us with the same frustration of simple things he would forget. We sat outside today and it was not

We had all the sides. The Brussels sprouts are so great. Everything else was delicious too. I had linguini with clams and mussels. Yum! Yum! Yum! We had a good waiter and nice table. Also it is right next door to the music center. Great spot! Will absolutely visit again.
