I absolutely adored everything about this restaurant. The blend of flavors was perfect, and the cozy atmosphere made it feel special. It truly is a hidden gem, so it's not overcrowded. What User doesn't like about Hinoki The Bird:
The bad: Unfortunately, the black cod was a bit too salty and came soaked in an oily brine. Additionally, we ordered a bottle of Kunin Pape Star ($98), only for the wine director to return and inform us that it was sold out, offering us a bottle that was nearly three times the price instead. The meals were excellent. Much bigger than I remember. Drinking was great.
Consistently good place with a great enclosed outdoor space that makes for a lively dinner out.
For the last 4 years a colleague of mine recommended this place to me. I live in Miami and usually visit Los Angeles every other years. Although I had in mind Hinoki The Bird, I never had a chance to have dinner there. Covid time also prevented me to visit LA for the last 2 years. When coming back to Los Angeles, I made a point to have dinner at Hinoki The Bird. I am so upset of myself. What a shame! My dinner at Hinoki The Bird is one of the best I had from a long time. And I try to visit great restaurants in Miami, New York and Los Angeles. The place is so beautiful; The food is so delicious and original; The presentation is outstanding; and The service was great: Brieann is wonderful. She gave me the best advice on what to order. Everything is there for you to have a spectacular experience in such a pretty venue. I already want to go back to LA only to have dinner at Hinoki The Bird again.
Love this restaurant. Ambiance “outside” is great. Food is always terrific. It IS Very Expensive but it IS a Special Place. One if my favorites!!!
From start to finish, this meal was nothing but excellent. Wonderful ambience. Attentive service. Very broad range of dishes. Each one superb. From share to entrees to dessert. Highly recommend.
