I like that this place is nice and cozy, has a very local Korean-insider feel. Love the charcoal. But they didn’t turn on the fans so the smell of the smoke gets on all your clothes and it got so smoky at one point our eyes and lungs were stinging. Their side dishes aren’t as good as the other 조개구이 in K-town if you know where I’m talking about… View all feedback.
What Danny Kang dislikes about Get Bbul:
Do not order their combo menu. I ordered eel combo but the served eel was not fresh. It looks cooked and made in few days ago and frozen. When I order eel again additionally then found the tast of eel is different. It was good and fresh. View all feedback.
Great selection of eel, clams, and appetizers. They definitely have delicious sauces to complement and enhance your meal.
We ordered the seafood combo without the intestines. The restaurant is located a bit away from Koreatown. There were mostly Korean people when we went there. The shellfish consisted of mostly snails, a little clam with cheese, and three medium-sized oysters. There were also three to four prawns. The other side dishes were more substantial. The spicy grilled squid was very tasty. The customer service was lacking, as they did not check on us often or explain what we needed to do, even though the restaurant was not busy. We had to figure things out on our own. The steamed egg was not fully cooked; I had to move the pot to the grill to finish cooking it. *PSA: Grilling seafood on a charcoal grill can leave a strong smell on your hair and clothes. Please be aware.
The food was decent, but the service was lacking. We had a frustrating experience when we tried to order the aal, but were told there were only two left. They recommended other dishes, but we insisted on ordering the aal. Eventually, they allowed us to order one, but when we asked why we couldn't order two (we had a group of 4), they just said we could only order one. It was a confusing and frustrating experience, and we will not be returning.
I love seafood, so when I heard about a restaurant serving grilled seafood, I had to go! I went with a friend, and she ordered everything this time. We tried the grilled eels and Combo A, which was perfect for the two of us. The eels were incredibly fresh! Unlike other eel dishes, these were not marinated and still had the skin on, which was a plus for me because I love fish skin. They were served with a delicious sauce on the side. The Combo A included a variety of clams, shrimp, and oysters, all of which were delicious. The restaurant itself is not very large, but we arrived right when they opened so we didn't have to wait. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for some tasty grilled seafood.
This meal was truly amazing and will be on my mind for the rest of this cold, rainy month of January. We ordered the grilled freshwater eel and small seafood grill combo and were surprised by the generous portion size. Every bite was delicious, especially the side dishes like steamed egg, seafood pancake, and corn cheese. The grilled eel, clam, shrimp, oyster, and cheesy scallop were all incredibly flavorful. It was a fun experience to use the white gloves to pick up opened clams and enjoy watching them open up. The three different soups served at the end were also scrumptious and you won't be able to stop eating them. The older lady servers were extremely kind and made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, this was one of the best dining experiences I've had. 6/5 rating!
