Formosa Cafe - Los Angeles

The hostesses were rude and awkward about seating my guest and I which started off the experience on a sour note. It then seems like our server avoided the table for quiet some time and we had to flag him down for everything we needed. Food was good. Pork belly entree was amazing!! XLB was bland and barely had any soup in it. Overall just okay.

Classic L.A. restaurant with the Hollywood vibe and great atmosphere.

Love the ambiance of the train car room. Good service, delicious food. We got the Walnut shrimp, yummy crunchy and good amount of rice for 2 people to share, wish there was more sauce to soak into the rice. We also got the BBQ Pork buns meal, lovely presentation of a large sesame blackened pork hank with build-your-own buns and veggies. That was quite filling and delicious. I also ordered the Puebla Hurricane drink, it was delightfully light and fizzy in a short glass. Last and BEST was the taro ice cream with fried sesame balls which we get every time, it was delicious as always and a big reason to come back! The ambiance is hip and classy, the food is delicious, and I look forward to my next visit :

I try to get to Formosa when I travel to LA once a year- always loved the ambiance but this year the food itself was noticeably better than ever! Everyone we were with remarked about the food being really tasty and great and the portions larger than on the past. For smaller groups, the train car is super and so was the service.
