What a hidden gem !! Delicious, full of flavors and spices authentic Indian food. Highly recommend lamb biryani and assorted naan breads. Vegetable samosas are fantastic with delicious sauce. View all feedback.
What Liliana Torp doesn't like about Anarkali:
The aloo parantha in the picture was fried and oily. The sabzis were old and probably just rewarmed. It was bad and lazy cooking and also expensive for no reason. Never recommend this place. Please stay away from this place you can end up in hospital View all feedback.
TL;DR: Great service with good food. I can't go wrong here. I ordered Curried Mussels, Masala Fries, Onion Bhaji, Buffalo Wing, Chicken Korma, Lamb Korma, Chicken Biryani, Beef Jalfrezi and Butter Naan. The onion Bhaji was quite standard. Onion scattered and fried and served as a small ball to eat with the hands. Not bad, but nothing crazy. The Masala Fries were very interesting. They are thin frits that are baked until the end and covered in butter Chicken Masala. They were surprisingly really good, but I felt like they didn't give enough of the Masala. Towards the end, I only ate normal fries. I still recommend getting this appetizer, but ask for extra sauce on the frits and you will not be disappointed. In my opinion, the Buffalo Wings were the weakest point in the menu. The wings were your standard wings with hot sauce. Not terrible, but for the type of restaurant it is, I expected something different than normal for this. The Korma courts were very good. Corma of nature is a very sweet dish, so I recommend it a little spicier than usual to make it really shine. I recommend this court. The chicken Biryani was good, but definitely a little dryer than I expected. It's definitely not bad, could've been better. Honestly, the reason I give this place 5/5 instead of 4/5 is the staff. The people running the place are really nice. Our waiter even gave us a free additional order from Onion Bhaji, although we did not ask because he said our party was too big for just one. If you enjoy an Indian food, I say give this place a way.
Oh, my God, this place is AMAZING! Great special thanks to our waiter Socrates, who made this experience so incredibly fun for us. Excellent food recommendations! The music there so much fun, great cool atmosphere, great food! We'll be back. Especially for the good vibes that these people have. Thanks Socrates for making our night very funny.
Maybe the service was spectacular here. I appreciate my friend Jerome's sharing this restaurant with me. I met the owner twice and he remembers who I am. The food is amazing and I look forward to again for more great food!
What a great restaurant!!!! You go to the front door and you can already say that you are in the right place. There are cozy, private stand seats with beautiful, elaborate wooden plates as barriers between each stand. Our waiter was so friendly and made us feel at home. The owner also came by and checked us to make sure everything was good. Got Samosas and roasted onion balls to start and they came with 3 different types of Chutney (all delicious). I have the lamb vindaloo and it was perfectly spicy and tasteful. The sauce was a great balance of thick and creamy, while still able to absorb in the rice (we were all at the other places where the sauce is too watery, but this place was just the right consistency). The lamb was so juicy and simply melted-in-your-mouth delicious. They even gave us a gift card and free dessert at the end! Such a wonderful experience. If I lived in the neighborhood, I'd be here every week.
Literally the BEST Indian food in all of California and a place I always look forward to eating whenever I visit LA. They have the best samosa, curries, and tandoori ever. The vegetable samosa is crispy, perfectly flavored, and the sauces they serve on the side is my favorite. I also love the staff because they are professional and always smiling. I had the honor of meeting the owners and they started Anarkali 40 years ago. If you guys are in the area then check them out and support a local business.
