HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Wonderful restaurant experience thanks to Mark and the chefs. The oysters kilpatrick and chicken wing entree were some of the best ever, and the main of blackened flake with mash and myer lemon and my husband modified crumbled chicken breast with mash and black peppercorn sauce were perfect. Then to top it off, rhubarb and apple crumb for dessert hot from the oven. And the campari aperitifs, bottle... View all feedback.

What Walter Domingues dislikes about Marks:
We ate here last Friday night, the staff a cheerful & pleasant, theroom is bright and beachy. The food is average, pricey for what it is in my opinion. We ate the zuchinni fritter entre, one bland corn and zuchinni fritter with too much sour cream plopped on top, a couple of little tomatoes...okay but not really that good.He had the steak for main, maybe 6 out of 10.. I chose the flake, because its local!! A piece of f... View all feedback.

Not many people dining as it is the off season, the soup caught my eye and after a Red meat binge I needed something light. It was menu'd as Home made Chicken, Vege and Parmesan soup. I was disappointed, It didn't taste bad, just lacked taste, I came across 1 clump of Parmesan and it was also tasteless. Oh, Soup without bread on the side, is that a thing now? I did love the fresh tiny corn kernels, they are so sweet. If you are a Chardy drinker, you are limited to 1 choice by the glass, a $15 option. It was nice though. With all the choices in Lorne at this time of year. I probably wont go back.

We had dinner with a local so that's usually a good sign. And our friend made a good choice. We all had different meals and all enjoyed them. Of course every restaurant along Mountjoy Parade has a view of the water but a view combined with tasty food is a winning combination.

Nice restaurant offering a varied menu. Prices a bit high for what you get. Friendly staff. While the food was okay we did throughly enjoy the apple crisp which was outstanding.

WE had a table for eight and we were very impressed that on a Wednesday night all of our meals were served out at the same time in a very full restaurant. Everyone on our table enjoyed their meals. I had the prawn pasta which consisted of freshly made pasta with a light but tasty tomato chilli sauce. The prawns were large and beautifully cooked and there were plenty of them. We found the wine list to be well priced and offer plenty of choice, The drinks service was perfect, we were constantly being topped up very discreetly not to interrupt the flow of our conversations. WE decided on staying a little longer and trying out the local cheese platter which turned out to be the highlight of our dining experiences in Lorne. It offered fantastic value with three well sized pieces of locally made cheese and a serve of quince paste which I believe was made in-house. Absolutely delicious and some of nicest cheese Ive tasted. I will definitely be back and highly recommend Marks.

Had a nice steak and white bait for dinner. The kitchen was able to cope with our 7+ table of people and all our dishes came out at the same time. Good selection of wine with a great atmosphere.

A recent visit to a restaurant in LORNE revealed a mixed bag of experiences. While some diners found the food to be average and overpriced, others raved about the varied menu and outstanding dishes like oysters kilpatrick and apple crisp. The friendly staff and cozy atmosphere added to the overall positive dining experience, with some guests praising the owner, Mark, for his hospitality. However, not all dishes met expectations, with one reviewer expressing disappointment in the lack of flavor in the chicken and vegetable soup. Despite some mixed reviews, the restaurant seems to offer a pleasant dining experience with good service and a decent selection of dishes to choose from.
