Feedback
I think we are the first Brits to review this place! We stumbled across this (predominantly fish) restaurant just by chance, and, unusually for us, made a snap decision to have lunch here having peered through the huge window. The main eating area was packed with either locals, businessmen or the yachting-brigade - always a good sign. Unfortunately, we were seated in a room set back from the main action, and felt a little isolated to begin with, but were soon joined by other diners. We enjoyed a very pleasant 3 course set menu (2 of us, including a decent bottle of rosé came to 61 Euros). We had rather dramatic starters of Coquilles St Jacques perched atop a mountain of fresh seaweed, followed by a gloriously succulent, beautifully cooked piece of cod, and finally an acceptable tarte tatin (my husband's choice) and a good selection of cheeses (my choice). We found the somewhat deadpan waitress teetering around on her vertiginous heels to be rather a "cool customer" (with us at least) but otherwise the service was fairly good; there was also proper table linen. This place is not in the heart of Lorient, more on a main road in the port area, but is clearly a very popular choice at sensible prices. We would certainly recommend this establishment.
In my experience this has to be the best lunch menu around Lorient, in terms of quality of food and value. €21 for 3 courses. I like the restaurant, it’s ambience and it’s staff. It does what many French restaurants do well, excellent food but served with good understated service. I also like that when I finished eating lunch I’m satisfied but not bloated or too-full feeling. It’s a perfect lunch.
