I was seriously craving a lox and cream cheese sandwich since I left Florida....this place will be my new weekly fix. Thank you Julie and Elizabeth!! The everything bagel and chive cream cheese suggestion made my lox sandwich SENSATIONAL!!! View all feedback.
NOT E.L. God this place is good. I came here since I was a kid and it was Kimmel 's. The bagels are still high quality. Fresh every morning. So much better than any place where I was, somewhere in the country (also NYC). Alex is the standard with which all bagels should be compared. The bagels are like $1 everyone and really fresh. Even if you're late in the day, they're not going very fast. Your cream cheese and Lox Bagel Sandwich comes with onions and tomatoes if you want. I always ask for some extra onion, but that's just me. For $7.99, I'm sent to the Jewish sky. I'd go to the desert for 40 years if I knew Alex was waiting for me in the end. People there are also very nice. Small shop, good service. It takes about a minute until my favorite sandwich in the world is ready for me. But for Monday because they are not open! Sighs. Generosity deserves his breaks... I also don't get the tad expensive at $1 per bagel. I don't know where to go, but you can't do much better than $1 for a fresh bagel with love. Unless you want to try your luck with the always expensive Big Y, where I'm sure the Bagels aren't even near...
Very good. A tad expensive at almost a dollar per. Not thick bagels, but that's okay.
Bagel Goodness. Wow, this is a bagel. I only had an Alex's bagel and I can't believe I didn't know anything about it before. Hands down the best bagel I had outside New York. It's nice to have discovered this diamond in East Longmeadow. Try her homemade cream cheese and delicious sandwiches, you will always come for more.
Who needs New York?. OK, so New York City does have great bagels. And, with a few exceptions, what you get elsewhere in the USA is not even close to the real deal. Well, Alex and his family do the real deal . They 're up at the crack of dawn making a huge selection of fresh bagels for the morning commute, or that leisurely weekend brunch. The cream cheese is whipped up on the premises. Check out the excellent Russian pastries, too!
I grew up on the Lox cream cheese spread and it is second to none. I now bring my kids for the real thing. Traditional bagels at its best, great service and meticulous attention to detail is evident in this great family owned restaurant.
