This is a fantastic spot for pizza! Whenever I'm in Long Island City, I always make it a point to stop by. I did have one issue: the pizza was a bit undercooked. It felt like it was apologizing for taking too long to prepare, but a deep-dish pizza actually requires time to cook properly. When they said it would take 30 minutes, I thought that sounded a little quick, and unfortunately, I was right; I ended up reheating it at home. Next time (and there definitely will be a next time), I’ll ask for it to be cooked longer, and I believe it will turn out absolutely perfect when it comes out.
The pizza here is quite good, especially considering how many pizzerias have closed and never reopened due to COVID. I'm really glad GoodFellas is around. Sometimes I just crave pizza instead of tuna.
Despite being one of the few pizza places near two schools and several businesses, Goodfellas Pizzeria Of L.I.C. falls short. There’s no seating, and you don’t even get the inviting aroma of fresh pizza when you pass by. I gave it a try since I work nearby, but the food was really underwhelming and not worth it. If you want garlic or any toppings, they just come from containers left outside on the sidewalk all day. The place feels like a hole in the wall with a catchy name that might make you expect something special because of the NYC hype, but it’s really nothing impressive. It’s better to look elsewhere for pizza. Their calzones are disappointing too—mostly dough with very little chicken or filling. Honestly, this spot isn’t worth it, not even for a quick snack. In NYC, good pizza is easy to find, but this isn’t one of those places. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Very solid option for pizza in LIC! Every slice we got was delicious (though I’m partial to the classic cheese pepperoni). If you want that thin crust pizza, don’t get the ones with a ton of topping (the dough seems a little thicker to support all the toppings—still VERY tasty though). Keep in mind that this place is take-out only and there isn’t really a place nearby to comfortably sit and eat. If you’re in a grab-and go situation, this is perfect. Service is friendly and decently fast, and I would come back here again for sure.
