Enzo And Lucia - LONG GROVE

We had a wonderful meal Saturday night. The place was very crowded, but our table was ready for us at our appointed time. Service was impeccable. One entree came about five minutes after the other five of ours, but that diner was understanding. Our cheesecake was yummy, but surprised to see that it was crust less. Prices were generous, but portions were too.

Always love dining at Enzo and Lucia’s! Food is fabulous and the owners go out of their way to ensure a fantastic dining experience!

We were looking forward to eating here but we were disappointed. The veal piccata with spinach was ok. But, the entree had too much lemon on the veal and very little spinach. The veal parmesan was not pounded thin or crisp like the server said. And, it had too much sauce on the veal and pasta. The tomato and mozzarella salad was OK but needed more balsamic. The only good parts of the meal were the bread with oil and parmesan cheese, the wine and the server. Overall, we weren't impressed with the restaurant because the food was just fair.

Made reservations a couple weeks out. Arrived on time they didn’t have a table for us. Said we could sit at the bar or outside. It was muggy out and forecasted to get cold. She said she didn’t know when a table would be available inside. She said we didn’t specify inside or out on the reservation well it doesn’t ask that when do you have to ever specify eating inside a restaurant? If you’d like to eat outside that is usually a request otherwise I’d assume to be seated inside. We ended up eating outside since she didn’t know when a table would become available. It was fine but did get cold. Also when making the reservation I did say we were celebrating a birthday. Confirmed w our waiter that he knew about the birthday. He brought a dessert menu. We ordered a dessert to share. They put a candle in it he did sing; Then they charged us for the desert. I asked when we got the bill. He said we would have brought a little gelato for free if we hadn’t ordered a desert really ! He couldn’t have brought that out also.. Frustrating. Food was good though ;

Always an excellent meal at Enzo and Lucia's. Can't wait for our next meal.
