The meal options are written on a board for you to make your selection - mainly soups and sandwiches. After placing your order you take a seat and wait and then wait some more. With such a small restaurant and 3 people involved in meal prep (you can see them working as you place your order) I was a little surprised that it took so long. Sure all the sandwiches were made to order, but it shouldn't take that long to pr... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Willie's Cafe:
This cafe is NOT on Wellington St. anymore. They have moved into an old factory on Dundas St. near Adelaide St. We use to love Willie's when it was at the previous location. It was in a small but cute house with a outdoor patio. It had a lovely atmosphere. Very cozy. The new location is cold and absolutely no atmosphere. We were not impressed. It is quite expensive and not worth it. View all feedback.
It was a late lunch, 15 minutes before closing, so I felt like an idiot. Coffee great, soup was amazing and the first class sandwich. Bright, clean room with excellent atmosphere. Very recommended.
Great atmosphere and food quality. The street appearance does not make justice. One in the picturesque style of cafe and atmosphere along with the food options and choices was a pleasant experience. Had the spice Thai salad now a favorite of me to go with cranberry turkey packing. They were just so good together. Please visit the city again.
I visit this restaurant every week for lunch and always look forward to my "Willie's" day. I have never been disappointed here. The soups are made from scratch and are delicious. They now offer a small freezer where you can purchase soups and frozen meals (my favorites are manicotti, lasagna, and Mac and cheese). My family loves the Three Times B, Cuban, tuna, and club sandwiches, as well as the BBQ chicken burrito, warm spinach salad, and house salad with tuna. With such a diverse menu, it's hard to go wrong with any choice. The desserts are also amazing. I have also hired Willie for a few events at my home and they were fantastic.
We ordered soup, a large Caesar salad, a sandwich, and a few coconut macaroons to take home and share. To our surprise, the restaurant split our meal into two portions. The Mulligatawny soup was amazing, the Caesar salad and Turkey sandwich were excellent, and the coconut macaroons were perfect! We were extremely impressed by the quality of our lunch and the service provided.
Willies is an excellent choice for those looking for a more relaxed and budget-friendly dining experience. The friendly staff creates a welcoming atmosphere. Located in the new Olde East Village, this restaurant is less ambitious but still offers a small yet beautifully made menu at more affordable prices. Situated in the incubator project building at 630 Dundas E., Willies is part of an open concept food court with coffee cafes, cooking projects, and boutiques.
