What User doesn't like about The Captain's Boil:
It was my first and my last time going here. I had a lobster roll that looked nothing like the advertised picture. There very very little crab meat, tons of sauce on a bun. I have had tons and tons of lobster rolls on the east coast, this one was at the bottom of the list of best to worst. View all feedback.
The food was tasty, but the service was extremely poor. The employees were unprofessional and rude, responding in a disrespectful manner, sometimes even sarcastic. The customer service was also lacking. Additionally, when we arrived, we noticed the handle of the restaurant door was oily. I kindly informed an employee for the benefit of the restaurant, but they did not acknowledge, respond, or take any action.
My wife and I visited this restaurant today. We have had great experiences at other locations in Toronto, but our experience here was terrible. One third of our corn side-order was rotten, but the waitress kindly replaced it with fresh corn. Unfortunately, our third order never arrived and when we asked about it, the manager rudely said it was sent to another table. He did not apologize or offer to make things right. As we finished our meal, we overheard the manager and waitresses yelling and cursing at each other, making for a very unprofessional and unpleasant atmosphere. We would not recommend this place to others.
A few years ago, I visited this restaurant and made the mistake of ordering an item from the menu that did not have a price listed. I was shocked when the bill came and I was charged over $100 for an item that supposedly had a seasonal price. The waiter did not bother to inform me of the price beforehand and barely paid any attention to our table throughout the meal. This deceptive and greedy behavior is unacceptable, and I will not be returning to this establishment. It is clear that they prioritize ripping off customers rather than building a loyal clientele. The lack of transparency with pricing suggests they are trying to scam patrons into purchasing overpriced meals. Other reviews indicate that the decor is unappealing and the food is mediocre.
I don't want to take away from your first time experience, so just know it's a different way of dining the food is amazing and it's a place I will definitely go again. Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is ground level, doors are all a good width, access around tables is generous. Bathroom access might be a little tight.
Good food. Not served on time or at least the two kids were not served until we complained though they made up by giving them free ice cream etc.The sea good was good and fresh.Food: 3/5
