Despite inconsistency, some still enjoy classics like the quarter chicken dinner, while others praise newer menu items like the crispy chicken sandwich. Consistency in food preparation and service quality remains a concern, with some guests left feeling disappointed by cold food and poor customer service. For those seeking a quick and comforting meal, Swiss Chalet may still satisfy certain cravings, especially for their signature chalet sauce.
My husband and I recently returned from a 3.5 month winter stay in Florida. He was craving his Swiss Chalet Doppelbein dinner, so we decided to go there for dinner. I have never been a fan of this restaurant, but before we left for the winter, we had tried their new delicious Brat beef dish and were impressed. However, when we visited this time, they had run out of roast beef and replaced it with two fish dishes. I decided to order the fish and chips with sweet potato fries instead of the regular fries. Unfortunately, when the dish arrived, the fish looked like two frozen fish sticks. It was flavorless, had a terrible coating, and was priced at $18.99. I was very disappointed with the quality of the food and cannot recommend this restaurant. I think we will just pick up my husband's Doppelbein dinner to go next time and I will not be dining at this restaurant again until they bring back the beef dish.
My husband ordered a double dinner at this restaurant. Since I had already eaten a big lunch, I decided to order 5 chicken wings. My husband, who loves dark meat, ordered the double chicken leg dinner with herbs and fries. Unfortunately, the chicken wings were dry and lacked flavor. I'm not sure if it's worth the price, but my husband still enjoyed his meal.
My husband and I chose to revisit this restaurant because we had a great experience during our last visit. We ordered our duck dishes and drinks. We were happy to see that our usual server, who has been there for a long time, was still on staff. They are always friendly and attentive.
We have a great meal with chicken, chicken wings, ribs, spring rollers and various sides. The spring rolls were okay. The chicken was anemic looking and dry, like the ribs. The rolls were stone and very chewing. The chicken wings were good, but heavily baked. They put the whole order together in 10 minutes, suggesting that they put only old food in a bag for us instead of making something fresh. I guess you'll get what you're paying for. Used to love the Swiss chalet, but now I think they were forced to cut their quality to stay alive and it shows. How sad.
Save your money and go somewhere else. Ordered food to pick up. I made sure I picked the correct location and time. I showed up at the time I picked. Not only did they not have my order ready but they didn't have my order. I showed the staff my order and that it was that location. I reordered the food and had to wait which is what I was trying to avoid by ordering on the phone. I made the mistake of trusting the staff as I found out when I got home and realized they got the order wrong. Order from somewhere else. Don't make the mistake I did.
