First time here was great for a sushi place inside masonville mall they where very quick and the food was fresh . I'd choose this place over any other eatery inside that mall again . View all feedback.
What kasey p doesn't like about Koya Japan:
a few years ago when I had koyas ramen it was very tasty but I tried their chicken teriyaki stir fry and was honestly appalled at the highschool cafeteria grade food I was served for $17?!? Tasted bland, chicken was dry and chewy which they try to hide with their disgusting soupy “teriyaki sauce”. Couldn’t even bring myself to eat it sadly. Don’t be like me and waste your hard earned money on this place! View all feedback.
We have been coming to this location for teriyaki beef for over 30 years. The name has changed, but the quality of food and service has not. The best food in the mall! Fresh, hot and made right in front of you. We will be back again and again. Order yourself the Beef Teriyaki you will be glad you did.

Me and my older Father Love this place. We usually come here on the Tuesday for the cheaper movie tickets. Look closer though now and you'll notice the whole movie industry is stalling . Great Japanese food here though.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options were vast and varied.Kid-friendliness: Children are treated very well and they all are made to feel equal !!!
Every single time my family comes here, their food is consistent and great as always. The regular teriyaki sauce Koya serves is the best I’ve ever tasted. My family has tried to make the sauce ourselves because of how good it is, but we just can’t get it right. They always serve large portions, and make it fresh on a grill right in front of you. Food 10/10. Service 10/10. Service speed (on a busy day) is still pretty great and it’s ready within 10 minutes.
Got the takoyaki (octopus balls), and they were really good! They kind of reminded me of spring rolls, but more soft on the inside. The brown sauce they have at the bottom of the container is supper yummy! I made sure to cover my food with them. It was even interesting to find little octopus tentacles on the inside of the fried balls. I just found it really weird that the flakes that they top the food with was moving on it’s own with no wind, but I would eat it again!
