I've loved this place for over decade, when I first discovered it, I ate there once a week for a few months. I don't eat it as much as I used to 10 years later but its always good, like what I just ate, delicious! Some of my personal favorites szechuan beef, spicy beef chow mein, their chicken balls are the only ones I like and I like them a lot (ask for sauce on side). Dragon Gate has been my "go to" Chinese food restaurant for many years. The food was good and there was definitely nothing to complain about - the staff were efficient and polite when taking my phoned-in order and everything was ready when I arrived to pick it up. Because of other comments I did pay attention to the windows when I went in and yes they were very dirty but I couldn't help but wonder if that was due to owner negligence or the fact that the restaurant sits on one of Londons busiest traffic routes.

All the fried rices are the best I've ever had in Canada, the egg rolls.... make the ones from the mandi... taste like cardboard.I've been all over the world and this place is still one of the places I miss while I'm away. Try it.
I ordered take away, a combo 9A which comes with chicken balls, rice and some almond veg medley, not realizing you actually need to ask them NOT to drench them in sauce first before stuffing the whole thing in a styrofoam container. The soggy chicken balls were mush and so was the rest of the dish. Not happy, still hungry.
Was absolutely appalled at the condition of the washrooms. Thought I was going to be sick from the stench. Unbelievable that they have not sunk one thin dime into any renovations anywhere in the restaurant. I love the food, but honestly don't think I can go back after what I saw tonight. They sure don't mind taking peoples money. It is high time they invest in the place. The washroom sink is horrible, the taps corroded heavily in gunk that I'm sure you couldn't scrape off. The walls have big chunks missing from the paint, the chairs are sticky the fabric is so old. The windows dirty. Nothing has been touched or repaired since the place opened. I have been going there for close to 30 years. Nothing has changed. Discusting!!!
This is your standard, run of the mill Chinese food joint, absolutely nothing special about it. The washrooms are horrible, they smell bad and the food is pretty much what you would expect from an outdated restaurant with dirty windows.
