The restaurant had an open kitchen layout so customers can see what is going on. They only had chef that evening who is new who had to cook all the hot food for everyone eating in and also for the takeaway orders. Poor guy, he was doing his best but it meant that service was really bad and the customers dining in were fighting with the wait staff (yes they also only had just waitress serving the whole restaurant). We were disappointed when our nearby Carluccio's closed down, so we were thrilled to discover that Carluccio's Richmond had opened. We decided to eat there before heading to the Richmond Theatre and we both enjoyed delicious meals and excellent service. The food was reasonably priced, but we found the cost of wine by the glass to be quite high. Despite that, we had a pleasant overall experience.
Struggled to find my reservation. Had to send a meal back as it was cold.
Very poor experience at Carluccios Richmond (after some good ones in the past . Excessive delays in delivering food, collecting orders. When food finally arrived after apologies from the management it was incomplete. Maybe due to an emergency upstairs (water was leaking through ceiling into the mens washroom . Management did apologize to us, but some major issues there (staff problems? . Couldn't recommend the experience!
Delicious food and very good value. Welcoming and friendly.
Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, we were given very little attention and not told about the special offer menu until we asked. Apart from that, it was fine.
