We came for a birthday celebration and were assigned to table in the back where they also serve food. We were about eight people and all had drinks when a man with a strong French accent referring to himself as the manager, said we had to leave the table. He said it was reserved and the guests would come soon and we responded that that was fine as we were heading elsewhere shortly. He did not accept that for an answer and he kept repeating that we had to leave in the next 20 minutes. The whole thing escalated and at one point, he was shouting at us – threatening to kick us out. He was rude and the whole group felt it was a very was very unpleasant experience. Definitely, not something you would expect in a service establishment. We finished our drinks and paid but by the time we left, the guests had not yet arrived. I would not recommend this place unless you are up for a public shaming from the manager. Shame since the waiters were friendly and helpful and drinks were nice.
Really unpleasant experience. Booked a table for 22.30pm to dine, was told on arrival that the kitchen closes soon so we had to be quick to make a choice. Felt pressured to pick the sharing menu, which was overpriced and nothing special. Cocktails are also extremely overpriced for mainly just large chunks of ice, all the pretentious bells and whistles but not as good as you'd expect for £12 a time. The waitress was lovely but given the overall experience we didn't tip, the service charge was enough on top of the already ridiculous bill. Won't be going back.
The waitress was super friendly and had great knowledge of the menu.
The food was great and so were the cocktails however the female waitress was so inappropriate and rude that it left a very sour taste in our mouths. To add insult to injury she added in a tip and despite the fact we disputed it, refused to remove it. Virtually threw the menu at us to show she was entitled to it and refused to provide a receipt as ‘we are paperless’ but also refused to email a receipt. I will be contacting trading standards totally unacceptable (and I’m usually not inclined to complain given that I have worked in the service industry for years) Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
It hurts to leave a bad review to a local business, but they really let me down. I booked a space in the bar for 12+ people for my graduation, having come in and chatted to the staff and agreed a date and time. I was happy to put a deposit down but they said it would not be necessary. We arrived ready to celebrate, and the bar was shut. The owner said sorry, he forgot to put it in the system, and they thought it would be a quiet evening. I cannot understand or accept why you would accept a large booking without logging it, in doing so ruining someone's plans for such a special occasion. I received somewhat of an apology but that's it, no offer to come and open up, nor any other way to make it up to me. Really disappointing, and I can't say I'll ever go back.
