When I first arrived there was a huge crowd outside the pub and I thought I was never going to be able to hear my friend over a dinner table, but realised the restaurant was upstairs. For a while we were the only ones in the restaurant, the waitress was very pleasant, she didn't hover to take our order or harass us to finish up. The food and service were very good and I will definitely be going back there to eat. View all feedback.
What RichardW doesn't like about The Hide at The Bull:
We went to the restaurant for breakfast. Other than a slightly dirty cup, which was promptly replaced with a fresh pot of tea and a discount given as an apology, the only other issue was the sausage. Although it was cooked well, it appeared pale and unappetizing, affecting the overall dining experience. View all feedback.
My mate praised over this place so went a for fish n chips.fish was cooked in order, but the most disappointing part was that she served fries! there is a reason why it is called fish and chips! if you need to fry, then mcdonald’s is always open. please change it.
The restaurant and the hotel "the hide", the pub of the bull had a strange quiet atmosphere when we came in (although it was even more vivid than we were gone). not after a huge meal we ordered a Scotch egg with curried mayo for me and a sausage roll from the snack menu
I headed here on a Saturday evening, with a reservation. The restaurant here is small, and on this particular evening only 7 tables had been laid out for service. With 3 wait staff, surely nothing could go wrong I think you can see where I'm going with this For starters we had the macakrel pate, which was presented beautifully and tasted wonderful. Our only complaint was that it didn't come with any bread, and when we asked for some we were told it was being baked and would be brought to us in 5mins...the bread never arrived. My finance's main the Beef Burger was good, but lacked any life (his words) basically it was a typical burger, nothing more and wasn't worth the money....read more
I came here on a Friday evening in September, although the pub was overflowing into the street the dinning room was empty. We ate from the set menu. We both went for the burgers, cooked medium, and I was very pleased to see it was cooked perfectly. The French fries were really good and the relish was delicious. Dessert choices were limited due to a busy lunch service. Very attentive service, great value for properly cooked burger in the city.
This is a nice restaurant deep in the city, with a large choice of main courses, it was hard to make a choice The restaurant service was great. My steak was cooked perfectly, the steak was like others of my group The only black note is that you have to wait for a table even if you had reserve one. Be patient, it totaly worst it. It's a very good restaurant that I recommend!
