Went for drinks this time on a Friday afternoon. Lots of space in their garden, very comfortable pleasant place if you like to be outdoors. A nice range of Spanish wines to try out too! View all feedback.
What John Alhelm doesn't like about The Duke of Sussex:
Sunday lunches are obviously popular, and one is pleased to see that the duke of Sussex is so very popular in consequence..... but the NOISE levels are quite unacceptable in the circumstances. One can hardly think, let alone make intelligible conversation. Food? OK, tasty roasts on overfilled plates, and the hardworked staff at pains to deliver dishes on time. Not the most happy experience as above, but a quieter day... View all feedback.
I had a great experience at this restaurant. The service was excellent, and sitting in the bar area was so nice and quiet. The roast beef was just okay, but the roast potatoes were a little dry. The portion size was good for sharing.
Very nice food and friendly waiters. Very slow service.
My Sunday roast was more than overcooked, the Yorkshire pudding was cold. The meat was grey and unappetizing. Standards continue to slip. A shame.
Great food, great atmosphere anf great service. Highly recommend the Duke.
The food was excellent, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere of the venue was wonderful. The only downside was that it was Quiz Night at the bar next door. The Quiz master was enthusiastic and loud. Despite that, I would still highly recommend this restaurant.
