I had lunch with my dad today at The Dairy, our first visit despite wanting to go for months. It was a delightful experience in every aspect! Although the service was a bit slow at the beginning, it was quickly resolved. The food was unique, tasty, and beautifully presented. The Bellini was a delightful surprise and I savored it. We have visited the Dairy restaurant three times and each time, the food and service were outstanding. The chestnut and wild mushroom pasta dish was particularly memorable. A fantastic experience from start to finish. The restaurant is in a great location overlooking Clapham Common and just moment from the tube. It’s a cosy and welcoming space with an open kitchen and slightly rustic feel. The service is friendly and relaxed but also very attentive without being overbearing. They helped us understand the menu and make our choices, there’s a great drinks list too...we chose from the main menu and the food was just wonderful. Three savoury courses (they are slightly smaller plates) exploding with flavours and textures. We wanted to lick all of our plates clean! There were lots of small touches too, little freebies here and there, some terrific sour-dough bread at the start, a really nice low-alcohol beer available too. We will absolutely be back. This is great for a posh supper, a date night or anniversary or just a get together with friends over food prepared with love and care. And it didn’t break the bank!
Went for brunch, which was great in terms of the food. I have been before and not sure why but the waiters/waitresses were far less attentive than before. They missed an item on the order and added an extra meal. Wouldn't usually be an issue but they weren't overly friendly about it despite it not being our fault.
Dinner was lovely, with a great amuse bouche and happy birthday plate on the house! The food is exceptional and exciting to have lots of small plates. It would’ve been nice to have some music in the background.
Michelin level food at gastropub prices. Lovely team take great pride in their fare and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend.
Brilliant food and service. Fantastically high standards without being pretentious. Perfect!
