In the 1980s and early 1990s, max renzland and his identical twin brother brand (who died sadly from a heroin overdose in 1995) ran some excellent restaurants in the western londons. chez max was originally from 1989 to 1991 in kew and later in chelsea from 2002 to 2004, le petit max was from 1991 to 1996 in hampton wick and monsieur max was from 1997 to 2002 in hampton hill, the latter received a Michelin star from 2000 to 2004. all were bistros, the real passion for french cooking and ingredients, and I ate many good meals in these fine facilities. after that, max disappeared from the eating scene, then he went for d

Some of the best food I eat outside a Michelin star. every time I eat there, I am always surprised by the consistency and quality in the food, wee and service ... I would eat there every day if I could.

Beautiful small place with beautiful, tasty decor. the menu had many interesting, unique decisions and was all reasonable prices. we had the french woof soup, lobster and garnelen cocktail, deenburger and stein bass with borilla sauce. will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes!

Staff were excellent professional and fast. We were group of four and some had a meal of starters and dessert which was ample. Food was tasty and well presented.

Superb food had the stonebass coq au vin beautiful and also the rhubarb dessert was delicious,service was fantastic,only let down was the Irish coffee but other than that great restaurant definitely gonna visit again.
