I had my moro east cookbook for years and some of the recipes have become clips in my own repertoire, but I have never been in the restaurant. that changed on Friday. the atmosphere floats! the waiting staff was polite and attentive. all three courses were visually stunning and packed with taste. the ingredients were top notch. absolutely super! I look forward to my next visit and the next and the next. View all feedback.
What Stefan Hermiston doesn't like about Moro:
we had a great lunch that celebrated my man's birthday and as a vegan I could eat a cursed mezze that was delicious; but I would say it was disappointing when it came into the desert as there was nothing but vegan listed. so unfortunately we found another caffe to have dessert and coffee. of course we would have stayed in moro. Hopefully, in the new year they can deal with an increasing number of people who want qual... View all feedback.
Lunch at Moro I have used Moro cookbooks for several years but never been to the epicentre! On this visit to London, we made time for a Moro lunch break. Genuine atmosphere with genuine food. There is a reason why Moro has been here for 25 years! Loved the menu, slightly pricey though.
Moro is a great Spanish restaurant though I'm not 100% sure how authentic Spanish the food is or from what region. Some up market restaurants explain their background and cuisine type in an area of the menu which can be useful. The food was excellent quality, perhaps a tad overpriced for the portion size though. The drinks (cocktails, freshly squeezed blood orange juice etc) were also great and had a good variety. I had sourdough with oil and salt for the table, the halloumi and tomatoe starter, baked lamb for main, and the chocolate and apricot desert and thought this was excellent, though the lamb was cut very thinly a thicker cut would be juicier. My partner tried the hake (which I also include a picture of and said that it tasted amazing). It's definitely worth visiting and trying for yourself just bear in mind it's about £60 per person before service charge.
Came here for our team Christmas lunch. Had never heard of it, but was booked by someone else in the team. As soon as you walk in you can smell the lovely food. We had their Christmas menu which included a bunch of starters to share, a main each and a dessert too. It was all SOOOO DELICIOUS. I’m not sure why I’ve never heard of it before, or how popular it is in London but it is amazing. Underrated in my eyes. The starters were my favourite I have to say. It varied from creamy leeks, beetroot, liver, a pasta with squid and more. All great. I don’t even like liver, but this one was amazing. Everyone had a variety of dishes for mains. I personally got seabass, others had duck, cod and lamb. I tried everything and was all cooked amazingly and so interestingly spiced. The pictures give a better view and I could be here all day describing each dish. Really is something special, this needs to be tried. Loved it, would go again. The staff were super friendly and accommodating even when we were getting a little loud! We had some amazing desserts, the most popular being a lemony yoghurt cake. Also they give bread, LOTS of great bread.
Great service and food! The place itself is not very fancy or well designed it’s pretty casual, but the details show more than that. A bit overpriced, but once you taste the food, you’d get why. The bread is really great and served immediately when seated. We had the 2 different soups and they were both great, especially the leek and yogurt one. The cured smoked beef with beef candies was also very tasty, I just wish there was more beef in there. We had also the sea bass and lamb, both dishes were pretty special, well seasoned and yummy. For the dessert we had the chocolate tart and the yogurt cake with pistachio and pomegranate both were amazing. Wine selection is not very wide, but satisfying.
Delicious sharing starter plates we had all of them (feta watermelon salad, bean tuna salad, spinach anchovies and mini burgers) and didn’t get round to mains. The bread at the start was fantastic and the toilets very clean always great signs of a good restaurant. Service was also delivered with a smile.
