Despite some service and scheduling issues, the food is delicious and the ambiance is inviting. The decor and reggae music create a true Caribbean dining experience. The menu offers a variety of flavorful dishes, with curry goat and ribs being standouts. The attentive service and welcoming atmosphere make it a top choice for both Caribbean food enthusiasts and international diners. Overall, Roger's Kitchen is a must-visit for those seeking quality modern Caribbean cuisine in London.
A caribbean restaurant that does some authentic dishes like ackee and codfish presented in a modern way. Also does cocktails, especially ones involving rum, coconut, lime and mango.
We had a wonderful evening at The Mango Room. The Service was very attentive and polite. The food was amazing. Next time in London we are back in The Mango Room for sure.
Excellent food here. If I say this up front, I know that I won’t forget to say it! Ask any ethnic foodie, and they will tell you that when they go out to eat food from their own ethnic heritage, the key thing they ask is whether the food they eat is better than they cook at home, whether it is tastier than Mum’s Sunday best, whether they can get the full restaurant experience. Roger’s kitchen ticks all of the boxes. Throughout the menu, there are modern twists and manifestations of traditional West Indian favourites. This should keep Caribbean heritage people happy! But the menu is targeted at food lovers from every ethnic group. Indeed, the seafood soup itself would have graced ‘The Ivy’. The starters are varied. The mains, fish, chicken, meat, flavoursome, perfectly cooked and excellently presented. The service is attentive. Roger’s kitchen is actually quite new, being on the site of a previous Caribbean restaurant, the Mango Room, but also now appears popular in its own right. We came to eat here as a family, we have been back with friends. And we will definitely be back again. Great food, great value. There is not an independent Caribbean restaurant in London that we would rather eat at. Roger’s Kitchen offers excellent modern Caribbean cuisine for the West Indian, British and International foodie. If you are travelling to London for a week, put Roger’s Kitchen on your “must eat here” list. 5 Stars.
The resturant is actually called Roger's kitchen and the first thing you experience is the amazing decor of the place. The food was authentic with a fine dining twist. The reggae music playing in the background sets the scene for a great night. The curry goat and ribs are the star attraction on the menu. The ackee and saltfish is flavourful. The thing what makes this place difference from others is Roger himself, who took time out to talk to us about his He used to cook at the mango rooms so that is the assocation with the now closed down resturant.
Beautifully presented flavourful hot food served up with a friendly warm ambience. The tiger prawns and ackee and salt fish were a treat. Will be coming back for the Monday to Wednesday 20% off food only at dinner time
