The restaurant is attractive and worth a visit when there are deals available. The portions are large and satisfying for those with big appetites, but the food quality during the off-season is lacking. I would not recommend the restaurant for those looking for a more upscale dining experience. View all feedback.
What Hubert Price doesn't like about La Cucina:
Really disappointed I reserved the table for 8 people, when we arrived the table wasn't ready and we waited 10 minutes at the door, until they found the reservation. Very poor service, the waitress didn't know the menu and the allergies of it, very unprofessional, we asked few questions and she didn't know how to answer. Good basic Italian food, right in the middle of Brick Lane. No extra charge for gluten free!
Just "meh" is all I can really come up withWe sat in the front section, which was quite chilly on a winter night.
Visited here in the evening timeThere was 3 or 4 other entourages at the same timeService was very very slow.
The main thing contained very little meat, 5 small pieces of chicken in a plate, all less than 1/2 and inch square, and were mainly pasta. the only good dish was the goat cheese star who was huge.
Once we were seated, it took 25 minutes for our order to be taken. Despite the wait, all the staff were very friendly. The food was also excellent. We even received a complimentary tiramisu! I will definitely be returning and would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
