Gillray's Steakhouse - London

I have to say we arrived early. I have to sit in the bar. while we wait until our table is ready and our family arrives. we had cocktail and coffee in bar area. we were on our table looking at the themes that were fabulous. we had the set star who was amazing. the quality of the rib just melted in the mouth, we all ordered various steaks for the main that was cooked to perfection. well done to the chef who cooked them. the sauces that came with steak were done. the taste was right. the odds we choose to go with the steaks were stopped. the cheese garnel pasta was excellently combined with the taste, now we chose the sticky toffee pudding. with ice, well, I had some sticky toffee pudding. in my time and this was really amazing. it melts in my mouth with a wow factor. well done on the dessert section. the waitress who took care of us was very knowledgeable, well done with her. her service was excellent. we will come back again?

The restaurant is situated within the Marriott Hotel. It is tastefully decorated throughout and has amazing views directly onto the the Thames and over the North Bank. Our waitress was polite and efficient and importantly, we weren't rushed. The food and drinks were lovely and we both said that we would definitely like to return. On exit, we noticed a lovely, comfortable, upmarket bar area. So that's on our return list too.

Enjoyed the meal and our server was great I would have rated higher but I just like to eat my food off a plate and not any old piece of tin.

Very impressed with the delicious food that was served for lunch even though they ran out of lobsters. Highly recommended for the food and ambience too.

Very slow bringing our initial drink to the table, the mixed starter ribs, halumi, and squid was lovely. The chilli squid did lack chilli. Our mains which were the steak burger, and the yorkie were good, but we weren't informed that the chips were separate and £5.50 each extra. The burger came dry and we had to ask for a sauce selection as it also wasn't offered. Two glasses of Moet and two beers both of which had to get the waiters attention, and then the kick in the potatoes.....a £15 service charge!!! I'm sorry but the service wasn't up to standard, and we are not eating abroad. Bill total £139 for two. Not sure we would go again.
