What EugeneLovesTofu doesn't like about Fatt Pundit Covent Garden:
I had high hopes for Fatt Pundit but I ended up feeling unsure about it. My favorite dishes were the crispy, spicy fried okra and the flavorful mock chicken, as well as the tasty Szechuan rice. However, I was not a fan of the tamarind potatoes and found the veg Manchurian to be lacking in flavor and too thick. Overall, I left feeling like I had eaten but was not completely satisfied like I am after dining at Tofu Veg... View all feedback.
I absolutely adore the Bombay Chilli Mock Chicken made spicy, it’s INCREDIBLE. The popcorn cauliflower is also very delicious with incredible and intense flavor coming from the dip. I always order these two items. On this occasion I also ordered the spicy fried vegetables, but I honestly felt these were very similar in flavor to the chili mock chicken. It was really hard to discern the difference between the two. Moreover, I couldn’t tell where the vegetables were because it seemed like more of a mock meat dish. Finally, during this visit we ordered the Momo and we hated it. So, I would not recommend ordering that. In general the food is usually delicious here. Be sure to ask for the separate vegan menu. Decent vegan selection which they said they may expand. More than enough choice. As other reviews: the sticky sesame vegetables are amazing. The sizzling brownie looks and tastes incredible. Two of us had 5 dishes plus the brownie shared which was more than enough. Not a vegan place but understand us said that the sticky sesame glaze they use usually has honey but not for the vegan menu. Try a cocktail too. Updated from previous review on 2022 09 02
Every dish was perfect! Found them quite spicy but this is good, definitely recommend the sesame veg! Start of the show
An exciting vegan menu here which I hope the staff will start to offer diners without being asked. Standouts were the momos, the sticky sesame vegetables and the tamarind glazed potatoes. It's worth ordering a side of broccoli as aside from the momos (which arrived later) the dishes we selected were in the brown and beige spectrum. The bing bread isn't listed on the vegan menu but can be served without butter on request. The Manchurian uses the word croquette but is a more of a textured sauce. Our friendly server said further vegan dishes are planned so based on this sample I look forward to seeing what else they come up with!
There is an exciting vegan menu available at this restaurant that I hope the staff will begin offering to diners without being asked. The standout dishes were the momos, sticky sesame vegetables, and tamarind glazed potatoes. It is recommended to order a side of broccoli with the momos, which arrived later. The dishes we chose were mostly in the brown and beige color spectrum. Although the bing bread is not on the vegan menu, it can be served without butter upon request. The manchurian dish featured a croquette-like texture rather than an actual croquette. Our friendly server mentioned that more vegan options are in the works, so I am excited to see what else they have to offer based on our experience.
