Comptons Of Soho - London
Comptons Of Soho
Description
Step into Comptons Of Soho and let the Old Compton Street hum carry you into a night that feels effortlessly metropolitan. This is a place built for conversation — mixology-forward cocktails, a curated wine list and crowd-pleasing plates that nod to both Italian charm and classic pub favourites: think sea bass, crispy fried chicken and welcoming vegetarian options. The bar staff are showmen and hosts, turning orders into introductions and turning evenings into stories. Sunlit afternoons, private celebrations upstairs and a danceable, convivial crowd make Comptons a go-to Soho hotspot for birthdays, after-theatre drinks or an impromptu night out.

Reviews praise Comptons' warm bar, cocktails and atmosphere but flag inconsistent table service, occasional menu roll-outs and some out-of-stock items.
Comfortable, welcoming, relaxed and cozy. my friend and I came practically from a bicycle taxi and directly into cozy armchairs next to a window.
In the heart of soho 's 'gay village ', compton 's is an integral part of the london 's gay scene for 20 years and is now something of one.
The staff at this restaurant was incredibly welcoming and friendly. They went above and beyond to ensure that our group of young girls felt comfortable. They checked in with us frequently to make sure we were okay and offered their assistance whenever we needed it. Special thanks to the man in the blue top at the bar upstairs!
I’m here from NYC and a friend recommended Comptons, and I think I found my London pub. Several people struck up conversation with me, as I am traveling alone, and all the other patrons were incredibly welcoming. There was a private event going on upstairs, so I haven’t been able to check that out yet, but I will definitely be back. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Look closely at the menu and signage: tags like 'speisekarte', 'wasser' and 'eau-gazeuse' hint that Comptons often caters to international guests — you may find multilingual touches and staff who are used to recommending off-menu wines or European-style options.
