Lovely environment at the Cafe Royal. Large round booth table was great for our group of 7. Food exceptional and despite looking very pricey to a non Londoner I was actually surprised by how much food we did get for the money. Great venue. Thoroughly recommend View all feedback.
What Grace Reid doesn't like about Brasserie Saint-germain:
this is an old hotel restaurant that is really for the guests of the hotel. we were tourist and ate here, extremely mediocre. one of our party became sick, but eating altogether was bad, even regardless of it. they have not understood their wine list that was limited, we have ended with a moderate bottle. Expensive but fabulous! Delicious food and friendly service
Food was good but not outstanding. Staff were lovely and the musicians were excellent. Smart and very clean loos too.
My friend and I had a nice time. there was a live jazz band, the service was friendly, efficient and friendly and the eating was great. the wine list also showed a few excellent giants on the glass. overall a beautiful experience and can not wait to go back.
Perfection. the cafe royal hotel is a measure of the highest quality. exceptionally good. excellent service. in any case soon return
Sadly our experience wasn’t particularly positive. We were looking forward to a nice evening out. The service was incredibly slow. They were slow to take our order, our wine was placed on a service table nearby but not actually given to us or opened until we asked after a protracted time. We waited almost an hour for our main courses and 30 minutes for our desserts. The service mostly consisted of the waiting staff apologising for the waiting times. The restaurant wasn’t busy but the waitress explained they were short staffed. We had steak which was lovely meat but was over cooked from how we’d ordered it. We didn’t send it back as we’d waited so long for it. We waited again for plates to be cleared and waiting staff didn’t circulate much, preferring to stay at their base at a desk near the kitchen, so we couldn’t ask for more water to be provided. We ended up taking the jug ourselves from the service area. The staff did take off the cost of the desserts without us asking as a gesture to apologise for the waits but did add drinks to the bill we hadn’t ordered or received. It does seem from other reviews that our experience doesn’t match with others so maybe we caught them on a bad night.
