Village Burgers - Lompoc

This restaurant is now active as vandenburger. when this place opened, it was delicious. good quality eating with huge portions kept us back. throughout the years and changes of property etc., the quality of food has decreased significantly and prices have increased further. it was always a bit on the expensive side, but felt to be acceptable with a good burger etc. Now the burgers are overdone, pastrami burger and 2 Measley pieces pastrami when stacked. we have given them several possibilities for a night, but we can no longer support this business that we wanted to be so bad in the village.

Don't get the pastrami sandwich. Yeah, I know pastrami can be fat, but that was all fat. there was so much meat/fat that it overhang and the roll destroyed. I had to take the biggest part of the fat and what was there was to throw away and throw it away to eat it as a sandwich, but I couldn't. it was a soggy fat mess. They cost me $11. make this extra trip to the city. big mistake and super rough.

Updated review, but this is unfortunately also not pleasant. I ordered a grilled chicken salad today. decided to go because the drive-thru had a line. first, the spirit of the employees is terrible. they all looked abused, which is a shame to me. one of the workers I recognized, and she always seemed upright and happy. Today I could hardly get a hell of her. the manager/maintainer seemed to argue with the young man who ran the grill. he also (supervisor) did not wear masks despite the mandat. Secondly, the young man on the grill constantly touched burgerpatties, the paper that had to be technical, the blood on him, as well as other foods, without wearing gloves or washing his hands in between. I wiped them on the same dirty towel/his apron. I saw it all the time I waited for my lunch. as someone who worked for over 13 years to eat, this kind of dingen really bothers me. it is regrettable that this place cannot be a decent place for eating. I will not come back. I take my money at the habit, where I know that I am really greeted, and my food will be treated properly.

Today I went to village burger and ordered a bacon burger went home there was no bacon on it. Those kids there need to get there sht together!!!

We still love this place so much. It's our go to burger spot in Lompoc. Usually for my husband and I we will get 2 burgers and 1 fry to share. We are both pretty big eaters but we learned our lesson the first time we ordered 2 full meals here that it was just way too much food. It usually comes out to about $20 because we get one combo add cheese as well as a burger add cheese and we add a side or ranch for the fries. We spend the same amount at Habit Burger for 2 burgers and 2 fries and Orcutt/Vandenburger you get way bigger portions. I can't wait for our next meal. The ONLY thing I don't like is how early they close. 8pm. Even on weekends. I mean, I get it during the week but it's a bummer cause there have been a handful of times I've craved one of their burgers and I have to go to Habit or Mcdonald's instead.
