What Ally S doesn't like about Jan In Jan O:
Sadly this place seems to be closed. Haven't eaten here yet. Heard the food and drinks are good but a little pricey. Drove by several times during lunch time as their soft opening. There's a sign that says closed. Called the phone number on their menu and seems to be disconnected. Hope they'll open again soon. View all feedback.
When I first walked in my first impression was that it was very minimalistic and cute! We just wanted to check out their menu but I'm really glad that we ended up eating there. Luckily we got to meet Lexi the owner and chef and she had the time to guide us through our meal. She hopes in the future, customers are able to talk to the staff and chefs comfortably and learn about the different types of Thai food. Their food is Thai inspired but not your basic Thai restaurant with pad Thai Etc. Their food is extremely fresh and they use all local ingredients. It was interesting I really felt like I was in LA eating at a hipster restaurant (which I love), so it was amazing to find that in Loma Linda! There is a little bit of fusion, as she used some Japanese mint leaves to add to the salads. It felt good to eat their food and I didn't feel weighed down like when I normally eat Thai food. Just really good ingredients that make you feel good. Their mieng kieng pla was delicious, salmon was breaded but not heavy, beautiful butter lettuce and crispy fried shallots, amazing garbanzo beans, and their sauce... wow their sauce. I could eat that for days. It was a fish sauce but enchanted with fresh fruit and ginger. So delicious. Now I love me some black sesame and the kao yum made me fall in love all over again. Jan in really does a wonderful job with their sauces. It was a black sesame coconut milk dressing (sweet) mixed with turmeric rice and 13 different herbs and veggies. This was my favorite!! Just refreshing and light but hearty. The red Assam with boba was great! Super strong and sweet. I won't grade harshly on the boba since it's a good place (squish was alright) but the drink was good. The watermelon tom yum was tart and refreshing but unique as you can taste the herbs. If you like watermelon lime I'd say be adventurous and give it a go. Not as sweet as Assam but still delicious. Please note, it does take some time for the food to come out since everything is fresh. No frozen foods in this place!! I really recommend this place for some healthy Thai food. Flavors have levels and it's just unique and fun.

Definitely plan on returning and trying all the dishes they offer (will take advantage of their online ordering this time or call to place an order in advance). Look forward to their official opening!
