If you are after authentic Taiwanese food (and yes there are differences within the 'Chinese' food banner) then you can't go wrong with Yuan Bao. We go there on a regular basis.
Staff is friendly. Food is yummy. Only fault is their phone system as I had to call several times to get through, should have an answering machine for call backs.
Had trouble finding their menu so I took a copy and hope this is of help to o... View all feedback.
What Vallie Grady doesn't like about Yuan Bao:
We also had a coupon deal for Yuan Bao, however it was for bubble tea & a lunch box set. We found everything to be quite acceptable & freshly prepared with beautiful service. The lunch set we had was vegetarian & came with egg, rice spinach & vegetarian meats. I ordered chilli on the side so was nice & spicy. The bubble tea came in enormous glasses & was delicious View all feedback.
My Taiwanese friend brought us to this place, mentioning it's a traditional one. The venue was comfortable and clean. Staff were customer-focussed. Service was fast and efficient. We managed to order 6 dishes: 1. Ma Po Tofu-the best we had ever had so far 2. Stir fried Gailan-bland and a little over cooked 3. Chicken Soup with bitter gourd and pineapple - the soup was tasty but would have more flavour if cooked longer until the chicken was tender and the bitter melons were softened 4. Drunken chicken - nice chilli flavour with great aroma of garlic, ginger and sweet basil 5. Salt and garlic fried prawns - good size prawns and perfectly cooked but not much flavour 6. Taiwan style braised pork knuckle - everyone but not me loved it since I wasn't a fan of skin and fatty meat Gosh so much food and fun. Great companies made dinner tastier!
As a fan of Taiwanese cuisine I would say Yuan Bao is pretty good. The menu is extensive, pretty authentic and reasonably priced. I opted for one of my favourites, Ma Po Tofu and it was good. I'd definitely be back to work my way through the menu.

Friendly staff. Efficient service. Delicious food in good serve portions. Usually very busy at dinner time, especially on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. So, make sure you arrive early (before 7pm).
I think I was the first one who brought the deal of Tea-Smoked Duck from Groupon. Arrived early dinner time at 5:30pm and was the first dine-in table. Waitress are all friendly and hospitable. Followed the deal to place orders of Deep-fried Chitterlings and the Tea-smoked Duck plus extra order of Prawns with Mung Bean Vermicelli in Casserole. I love all of them. Skin of Chitterlings were all crispy and it should be the best deep-fried chitterlings that I had in last five years. Tea-smoked duck came in half-duck size which was generous and tasteful with traces of tea-smoke. Duck meat was perfectly tendered. The casserole did give me a surprise with lots of green prawns with shell and traces of satay sauces absorbed by the vermicelli definitely brings the whole dish to next level up. Nearly forget to mention about the drinks that we ordered, which were all huge in size. Overall, the dining experience was decent and this restaurant is highly recommended.
