The Flamkuchen tasted like fish with uncooked onions. The "Wurstsalad" was extremely disappointing: cheap saussage, ebern cheaper cheese and dubious dressing. Nice service though. View all feedback.
Basel is always worth a journey, even if the cancellation of this year's Fasnacht and the legendary Morgestraich are the same as a cultural catastrophe. With culinary escapades, however, we also keep ourselves on this short trip despite the delightful offer – the prices simply pull out the shoes... Luckily, you are on the German side quite quickly to eat food, good and cheap. In 10 minutes we arrive in Lörrach on Saturday evening by train. Live small border traffic! In the middle of the (otherwise rather faceless) pedestrian zone, right at the old Markplatz, we stumble over the “Wilden man”. Seems to be a good choice. The popular and well frequented restaurant is also bar, vinotheque, inn, wine trade, vesperstube and scenery. In the front bar area, the drinkers can find standing tables with loud music, and a cozy part with wooden tables is adjacent to a rustic stone wall, further through a high, covered, green courtyard, where you can also enjoy a Mediterranean terrace feeling in winter. There's great rest. “Zum Wilden Mann” is a true Eldorado for wine drinkers. The remarkable offer ranges from wines from the region (Kaiserstuhl) to Italy (Toskana, Piedmont, South Tyrol). Also impressive: the extensive range of spirits, including many different types of grappa and local specialties such as citadels and pure apple fires. The “Wilde Mann” does not know a day of rest, has opened from 8 a.m. to 30 p.m. to midnight on Sunday somewhat more restricted. Food is served until 23:00 – great! The menu convinces with simple, honest dishes without much chichi, for it with all the more taste: various flame cakes, mowings, various salads with and without (Feta) cheese, sausage salad, cheese plate, small wines such as olives. The young, fleeting, memorable service is clearly well-launted, wrought every storm with left and doesn't let it wait long. We choose: 1x sausage salad with cheese (8.50 Euro), 1x cheese plate (with 10,00 Euro also the most expensive dish on the map), 1x supplement salad (4.50 Euro). 2x Pils from the Lörracher Privatbrauerei Lasser (a 3,00 Euro) and 2x Rotweinschorle (a 3,50 Euro). You see, you have food and drink on the table. The lush sausage salad is beautifully made sour and decorated with plenty of chopped parsley. The cheese plate offers at least 8 different varieties between hay milk cheese, Gorgonzola and Parmesan – all very powerful and saturating. The side salad offers freshly sprinkled red herb, tube and radish on a bed of fresh salad leaves, in a very spicy dressing, with crispy seeds as topping. There are plenty of peasant bread. Very sweet and tingling local beer from the Lasser brewery; also fine, almost lovely, the Schorle from the regional Spätburgunder. It is served in a high drinking glass with engraved wine-sicks – which is what I found in my grandmother's house. Of course, a quarter-liter will be delivered here. Finally, a Grafensteiner border (3,00 Euro) that actually still has a wonderful apple aroma, without a sprinkle undertone. We feel good and well-resolved. The service is happy to provide advice and gives you the feeling of being welcome. As we know, in good weather, you can find yourself at the outside tables and get to know new people here quickly – whether after a shopping trip or for an evening bag. The only minus point is the steep descent to the toilets. It is not possible to be too alcoholized here or to strike counter traffic. Otherwise we can come back again – and the reason for this is not only the walking proximity to the railway station. Nevertheless, it is quite a good idea to get off in Basel in 10 minutes.
Das Lokal ist rustikal und gemütlich. Ganz besonders bin ich vom Innenhof angetan, wo man auch bei kalten Temperaturen sitzen kann. Der Service war bisher immer gut. Die Speisekarte ist nicht so umfangreich. Eigentlich kann man dort besser vespern oder snacken als richtig essen. Deshalb bin ich eher gerne dort, um ein gutes Glas Wein zu genießen und ggf. eine Kleinigkeit dazu zu essen. Reservieren kann man leider nicht und die Speisezeiten sind, glaube ich, auch ziemlich eingeschränkt.
Simple place in the city center where quick lunch is served. Staff is friendly. Food is good. Just a choice of dishes is limited and get reduced (sold out) during a lunch...
Nice place for a beer. Staff seem stressed and weren't very friendly. Crowded and social atmosphere. Can't stay outside after midnight.
