We have been travelling past this pub for years on our way to Whitby and have always said we should try it, and wow, I'm glad we did. The portion sizes are generous, so go hungry. Our party had the mushrooms, prawn cocktails, and chicken liver pate. These were then followed by probably one of the best fish and chips dinners as well as a fantastic turkey dinner with all the trimmings. In addition, if you are not driving, they have a great selection of beers and wines and views unrivalled by mo
Very nice tradition country pub which has been tastefully renovated to provide more than your average pub fare It’s location is charming just off the main Whitby road with adequate parking The interior is comfortable with a small lounge next to the restaurant and bar. The restaurant was busy so I would recommend booking before arrival The staff were pleasant and efficient. The food was delicious and reflected the region I cannot comment on the letting rooms or campsite attached to the pub as
We went for a Sunday lunch. The pub was very busy but the food was excellent the service was second to none and the atmosphere was relaxed. We had roast beef and I had creme brulee my favourite dessert and my hubby had banana bread with toffee and ice cream. I can honestly say it was the best Sunday lunch I have had in a pub or a restaurant for a long time. Despite being busy the service was excellent
Saturday night meal in this classic old school pub. We had food to eat back at our accommodation for the weekend so stuck to just having a main. Been a long time since I’ve had a steak and ale pie and this was a great one to have as it was packed with steak and gravy. The chips were also top notch and there was a bowl of veg to be healthy wit
