Contribute Feedback What Leslie H likes about A&W:
I come here often. It's a half hour drive from Winnipeg but the burgers always are done fresh. I really love the beyond meat burgers, but it seems that every A&W is sold out of them for the time being. View all feedback.
What Robert L doesn't like about A&W:
nothing new here just another A&W but being next to the bridge and locks is excellent great place to stop on a warm summer day or evening and watch the fishermen below View all feedback.
We like to take a leisurely drive to this A W location in Lockport in the fall when the trees start changing color. The facility is clean, parking spaces are plentiful and their Onion Rings are delicious !!!
Good food, but very difficult to understand the order-taker (Extremely thick accent). Communication with your customers is key; they should be able to understand your representatives. No issues with her manners or cleanliness/uniform, and probably MY fault for assuming all A W's would have the same promotional specials. 2 Mamma Burgers for $9 and change, I would have just ordered my usual Grandpa Burger if I had known that I WASN'T getting 2 Mamma Burgers for $7. (Like in Selkirk, 10 minutes away) My bad, won't happen again.
Service is good here, the burgers are always hot and come exactly as ordered. When comparing to the A&W 's in Winnipeg, the Lockport store is better.
I periodically take the drive from Winnipeg to Lockport with my 98 year old father, and two grand-daughters (ages 7 and 5). After a pleasant ride up Henderson Hwy, we're consistently impressed by the service and enjoyable experience. The root beer is a favourite for the girls, and dad always orders bacon and eggs, amazingly served on real dishes with real cutlery. I was recently struck by the coffee mug's declaration that their coffee is fair trade and organic. That's better than some of the upscale breakfast destinations like Stella's can claim. A&W's commitment to humanely sourced eggs, beef, etc. leads the fast-food industry ... and if I understand it correctly A&W Canada has developed policies that are different than A&Ws south of the border in the U.S.
I like that A&W Burgers are made without antibiotics, steroids and preservatives. The burgers taste great and the prices are good.
