A group of fellow Truck enthusiast had a meet here last Sunday. The food was fantastic! As you can see in the photo I posted there was nothing left of the turkey, sausage, brisket, or macaroni and cheese when I was finished; just a plastic tray of destruction. I would eat here twice a week of I lived nearby! Remember to bring cash because they don 't take cards and don 't forget to wash your hands because they don 't... View all feedback.
What joe rivera doesn't like about Smitty's Market:
Average BBQ place brisket was dry and sausage was mushy like it was a day old and reheated. Wish my experience would have been better after paying about 73.00 dollars. View all feedback.
Best BBQ I’ve had since moving to Texas. The whole experience was amazing and I can’t wait to go back. This is my new go to spot. Keep up the great work!! Yall are awesome.
Very mediocre brisket. I am not a pro but this was very dry and tough. The sausage was good and it’s a fun vibe but there is better bbq out there
As always, the BBQ was spot-on. The lady wiping the tables was a little honery, but otherwise a little strange.
WTH. The biggest disappointment in BBQ. My wife and I are from Austin and decided to take a quick trip to try out BBQ in the so called heart of BBQ in Texas. I’m extremely familiar with what good bbq should taste like. I smoke my own and there is great establishments in Austin and San Antonio. This particular establishment was an absolute disgrace. I’m guessing the people going there have no idea what real BBQ taste like. For starters the person cutting the meat was cutting it with the grain. When chewing into it it was extremely tough. The meat is constantly being cooked when you’re ordering it and was dry as the desert. Additionally, we ordered the sausage; the best way I can describe eating the sausage is that when you bite into it it has the texture of ground beef and grits. I’m pretty such that sausage is sausage and not ground up pork and taco meat. The check out process is horrible. Why can’t I order my meal and my sides. Instead I have to order it separately. Meaning two different transactions! And two different tips! To be clear why am I tipping the person that put my Mac and cheese and potato salad in a tiny 2oz bowl that is significantly over priced. To top that off yall charge extra for sliced pickles!? I get prices went up but that’s a stretch. All this to say I’m sadly disappointed in your establishment. And if you goto “the heart of BBQ” in Texas at least make sure your standards are high enough to meet the expectations and stop preying on people that don’t know what real BBQ is.
