Description

Tucked into a quarry just off I‑270, this family-run diner serves scratch-made comfort food — towering pancakes, flaky biscuits, crisp home fries, generous prime rib and standout chocolate pie — at wallet-friendly prices. The cozy, shabby‑chic spot is clean, bright and staffed by friendly servers who deliver quick, homey service. Popular with regulars and boosted by nearby Scioto Downs traffic, it’s ideal for hearty breakfasts or casual dinners rather than a formal date night.

Best Breakfast in Columbus! In a city filled with fantastic restaurants, finding the best one in any category can be quite a challenge. However, tucked away in a quarry just a few minutes from 270, I truly believe we’ve discovered the best breakfast spot in Columbus. I’ve dined here multiple times and have never been disappointed. The food is made from scratch and features hearty, classic diner fare. The pancakes are moist and as thick as they are wide (and they are impressively wide!). The flaky, warm biscuits pair wonderfully with a sweet sausage medley. The home fries boast a perfectly crispy exterior and a tender interior. The portions are massive, while the prices are surprisingly low. I indulged in breakfast this time, but I’m already looking forward to trying it for dinner the next time I'm in town. Don’t miss out on this gem!

Excellent food, good prices. Have tried many of their plates. All are delicious, but the prime rib is outstanding. see picture) The pie is above delicious, especially the chocolate. Coffee is the good old fashion diner kind, not the special grind that seems to be everywhere.

Great Greasy Spoon menu in a comfortable atmosphere. I ordered breakfast ham with homefries and eggs. Added gravy and substituted a biscuit instead of toast for around $10. My wife had a nice-looking omelet w/ potatoes and toast for $8. The place was clean and spacious with lots of windows and the staff was friendly and prompt. My only complaint is that the heat wasn 't working particularly well on the first October morning with temps in the 30 's. I 'll definitely go here again.

The Penny Pushers Casino at Scioto Downs has definitely brought in a lot of new customers, so it's hard to predict how busy it will be. However, most of the times we've visited, we've been in and out pretty quickly, and the food is consistently good. It's not anything extraordinary, just solid diner fare. This isn't the place to take someone on a first date if you're trying to impress them, but it's a great spot to enjoy a satisfying meal once you've found out about good diners.
