Pizza prosciutto very tasty (in our case the small!) not even wait 10 minutes! recommended!

Often enjoyed a pizza in the svizzero. the sorte 4 formaggi with very good taste, tasty cheeses, crispy, thin teig. very tasty. so must be a good pizza. the ambiente inside a bit old-baked and should get a renovation. but everything clean and beautifully large, covered outdoor area next to the piazza. soon again.

The fog of the northern Switzerland we escaped to a day trip with the railway to locarno. After visiting ascona we returned to locarno for lunch. In the ristorante svizzero we enjoyed the lunch in a pleasant atmosphere in the open under the southern sun. piazza Grande. The menu, kalbspiccata with saffronrisotto tasted excellent. the service was friendly and fast. The restaurant is also known for its pizza. in the upper floor you will find the pizzeria, a very nice local for cooler days.

We were in Locarno on a Sunday afternoon. Honestly, I didn't see much open in the way of restaurants there in the main square and we were really hungry. We were enticed by the typical menu which offered the luganighetta ticinese alla griglia con rosti e insalata di stagione. This is a fancy way of saying the grilled local sausages with roasted potatoes and a mixed salad. I thought the food was good and the staff very pleasant. My only complaint is that I found the prices in Locarno outrageous. I'm sure the prices at this restaurant were in line with everywhere else but, honestly, I wasn't expecting things to be so high. As an example, we both had the above-mentioned lunch and I had a bottle of water (very small, something like 1/4 liter) and I think my companion had a small beer and it was almost 49 Swiss francs. The lunches were 19.95 Swiss francs each (decent portion size) and that miniature bottle of water was 4.30 Swiss francs! Again, though, I think these prices were in line with the rest of the town. There is a seating area indoors and out, including a very large room upstairs. The exact address, since I can't seem to update it in the restaurant information, is Largo Zorzi 18.

Just off the main square in Locarno; a perfectly decent, and ordinarily priced restaurant, good for the usual pizza/pasta options. Not earth shattering, but entirely reliable, and the staff were good and welcoming.
