We spent several evenings here. The setting is great with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. There is craft beer on tap and a variety of local bottled beers as well as real local cider. The various raciones were delicious and great value. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and Luis and his team made sure that everybody felt welcome and at ease. Thoroughly recommended
This is not something you can experience anywhere else. I didn´t expect such a lovely evening. I felt really special, it´s like somebody invited you to their house, so you feel like home there and not like in a restaurant. As a bonus, meals were amazing so I don´t regret a single euro.
This was a very special evening i wish i could speak Spanish but even so the host made us so welcome and gave us some understanding of the development of his relatively new orchard and enterprise to make craft cider which is delicious We have a lovely meal of typical local dishes and great company and sampled lots if his excellent cider excellent value and really unique experience
A lovely relaxed evening of home-made tapas and cider made on the farm. Combined with the tour of the orchard and cider press this was a wonderful experience.
This is not a typical restaurant (despite the TripAdvisor classification) it 's a warm and relaxed experience of Asturian produce and hospitality at a small cider orchard. Of all the meals I 've had out, this one was the most like being a guest in someone 's home, and it was a true highlight of our stay in the area. El Romano is run by a group of cousins whose grandfather is at the center of the orchard 's story, and their hospitality is inviting and excellent. During an initial tour of the orchard and the cider press, you absorb a lot of wonderful context about cider making in this area of Spain. And this is of more than just academic interest, because their cider, made on a small craft scale, is truly excellent, with a delicious earthy quality. The meal that follows is delicious and varied, making use of the Asturias 's dairy, meat, and seafood, but what is perhaps most special about it is the mellow, rustic environment, with the table beside the old press, and the companionship of the guests. Popular sidrerias in town can have an enjoyable bustle, but there 's also something of a hectic quality to them, and El Romano is the exact opposite, welcoming and completely unhurried. Some words about language: As English speakers we were made to feel very welcome. There is some English speaking ability among the cousins, and the orchard tour is in Spanish while I don 't speak well enough to understand every nuance, they made sure we grasped key points. In terms of the meal, the food and drink do all the talking. This was a special experience, very fun and highly recommended. Since places around the table are so few, I 'd make sure to book in advance for any trip to the area.
