Eat as you're at home. Good for families and for professionals too. Good value for money. The chef is very kindly

We've been several times in this restaurant and we keep coming back. The food is just excellent. Joan, the chef, is second generation at the kitchen and masterly applies what he learnt from his mother and his own creations. Rice, fish, meat, stews... all excellent. No fancy dressing. No hiding tricks. Just traditional Catalan food at its best. There is a more fancy restaurant just on the other side of the town square, more refined and triple the price. I know my preferred choice...

Well after last year's visit to the area we decided to do much the same this year and La Plaça in Lladó is still as good as ever. The Menu del Día is still only 10€50 for a 3-course meal including a bottle of wine each, absolutely amazing value. The staff are the same too, the owners Joan Alba are very friendly, and chef Joan is keen to speak to the customers too. Star has to be Montse though, she keeps the show on the road in the restaurant itself and is a real gem. The pork cheek (galta) is still to die for, as is the cuttlefish mussel paella (only on Thursday) and this year we also tried the grilled rabbit which was really impressive. Next year we have our holidays planned (not in Spain) but in two years' time we'll be back!

Typical and well cooked Catalan menu. Also seasonal variations. Kind people working there. To repeat frequently.

Just back from a fortnight in the area and we went to this place three times for their excellent lunchtime Menu del Día which, at €10.50 per head for a 3-course meal including a bottle of wine each, is stunning value. The menu varies daily by the look of things and the Macarron starter is excellent, as is the cuttlefish mussel paella main-course they do on a Thursday. Don't be squeamish though, the Galta de Porc (pork cheek) is to die for, amazingly tender, tasty and worth a special trip to the area. Thanks to the little waitress Montse for accommodating us so willingly.
